Dennis Green is absolutely an inspiration. I actually look forward to his lectures every week and I am so lucky to have had him as a professor. He has such knowledge and passion for what he does as well as the entire ethnic studies department. No matter what your major is, TAKE ONE OF DR. GREENS CLASSES!

4 exams which are 3/4 straight from the study guide he gives and 1/4 from lectures and films. NO HOMEWORK. NO PAPERS. He does not care for attendance but his classes are interesting and he is so kind and fun you will want to go. I would definitely take his class again. Easy A. You will need the book.

I have taken a class with him twice and I was never disappointed. Most of the exam questions are based off of the exam reviews and the rest is on the lecture. He is very caring and encourages people into a ethnic studies emphasis. Take this professor, probably the easiest A you'll receive.

if you are taking this class for a general requirement, it is not worth it. Lectures are not inspirational, they are boring. Not worth lowering your GPA. I do not recommend him.

Just attending lecture and doing the study guide will get you a C in the class. If that is what you are looking for, then this is the right class for you. If you are looking to get a better grade or learn, do your self a favor and take someone else. Books and lectures are boring and not worth your time.

Dr. Green is very inspirational! He knows a LOT about pretty much everything! There are 4 exams and a book report. The exams are pretty easy, as long as you read the book and show up to lectures, you will be fine. The book that you have to read is about Dr. Green's wife's family history which dates from 1700s to the 21st century. You must take him!

This class was okay. Professor Green just assigned readings with a study guide to it. His lectures were boring because he would just talk the whole class with an occasional video. The only grades we receive are the 3 tests, the final test, and attendance. The tests were easy 50 multiple choice questions.

He talks about his personal experiences in his lectures which are extremely interesting to hear. He gives you a study guide for his exams and if you do the study guide you will pass the exam. No homework except for one paper that he gives you plenty of time to work on.

Do not recommend. On the last day of classes I went to ask him for clarification about a concept and when I asked he turned around, started erasing the board so I walked up to him again and asked the same question. Without turning around, he said I am not interested in answering questions for non-ethnic studies majors...

Professor Green was one of my first college professor and I took African American History with him. He has so much knowledge about the subject and the book that we had to write a book report on was really interesting. He had study guides for each exam and if you completed them you can easily pass this class!

He changed his grading criteria this semester. Doing the study guides will get you a guaranteed C but nothing higher. A lot of busy work. Not worth the time or money..

He was clear in the beginning and about his exams. It was easy to get an A on the first 2 exams. Then we took the 3rd which was much harder and the average was low. When I asked him what changed he said, I do that because it's too late for anyone to drop and that we are stuck with him.... seems very inappropriate. Do not recommend

He has 3 exam and a final and that is what your grade is dependent on. So if you are not a GREAT test taker, I wouldn't recommend taking his class at all. It is very boring to sit through class and pay full attention. An A is not "easy" to get unless you REALLY work for it. But a B is totally doable.

Professor Green is very knowledgeable, but his class can get pretty boring. As long as you show up, take a few notes and complete the study guide there is no reason you can not get an A

One of the best professors on campus. He gives you a syllabus that has requirements and study guides for every exam you will take that semester. Keeps class interesting and relatable. Very flexible and will help you if you talk to him no matter what the circumstances. Cares about the students and families. A very good person and teacher.

He's a nice guy, very lively when he speaks, but he doesn't teach at all. You learn everything through the text book. I can miss class everyday and still get an A (because you learn through the book).

Took his African American History class and can't wait to take another one of his classes, even if it's not required for me to graduate.
