Extremely condescending, boring. Homework assignments are brutal. Midterms always are WAY too long and WAY too hard. Acts as if hes working you hard to prep you for 2nd year but doesnt. Imagine my embarrassment at UBC when I didnt know how to do truss calculations because he skipped that section in favor of a story about save-on collapsing.

brilliant man, royal pain. lectures are essentially useless, but the 4+ hours of weekly assigned homework (for marks) make sure you know the material anyway. Tends to tell the same stories repeadedly. Yes, we know about how the store collapsed, the bridge fell, and you aced the test already dennis.

Amazingly knowledgable about engineering and up to date with technology (he's quite old). Too bad he just can't teach. You'll have to read the textbook in his course. He's a decent guy though, and his students are never unprepared for future classes.
