Dr. Schmidt is by far one of the best professors here at Iona. He is amazing, he knows his stuff, and he is always willing to help. I loved his debates, and I loved his outlook on the war and Bush..he definitely knows his stuff.. its so sad he's retiring this year.. excellent professor defintely recomend him

Dr. Schmidt is god-like. He's a genius on so many levels and knows what he is talking about and how to teach it. Don't be scared by his attempts in the first week to remove people from the class by scaring them. It's just talk ;). But yes his classes ARE hard! But if you can't do it you suck...

Professor Schmidt is one of the best teachers at Iona...I would stronly recomment him. Once a week he talks about current events, on Fridays he does debates, and he only assigns the midterm and a final paper. The paper is long but its on a topic of your choice so definitely take him!!!

Among the three best professors I've ever had. Really knows his stuff inside and out, and is willing to stop and discuss things whether for clarity or simple debate. Midterm, term paper, and final for grade. Every teacher should be like Schmidt! Just don't get caught not studying, or else....
