This class is very easy; Ellis tells you from thebegiining that everything is from the textbook and the test is made by the publisher of the book so you basically only need to know definitions/key concepts. Ellis has a good sense of humour, doesn't keep you in class for too long, and has a lot of interesting case studies to share. Relaxed guy!

EXAMS! worth wayyy to much. Everything is from the textbook. For the group project Ellis is really helpful but the course is hard. I did really bad on my first exam (worth 30%) ended up getting an A because our group decided to make our project worth 60% of our mark. DRY LECTURES! bring your laptop

this course was a joke; multiple choice exam had multiple answers. to cover-up for this mishap, he decided to mark end of the year essays extremely hard. i dont remember anything from this course other than liking sociology beforehand and becoming bitterly disappointed, as well as changing my major, by the end.

brutally boring! i can't stand him. stopped going to class and the tutorials because they were pointless. you need the text book for the first half of the course. exams and assignments were easy.

Very approachable, answers any questions you may have. Provides many opportunities to develop experience if you are interested in the field. Lectures are mainly from the text which he co-authored. Midterm questions are directly from test bank of the text. Involves, minimal readings, group project (paper+presentation) and take home exam.

I think he's a good professor. His lectures aren't super interesting, but that also depends on how much you may enjoy conflict resolution as a subject. The breakdown of marks is good and I like how he tries to make the content more interesting with a creative presentation in groups.

No need to attend his lectures since he pretty much monotonously summarizes what's in the text & nothing beyond that. Luv his British accent and witty jokes. Feel terrible for falling asleep during his lectures a couple of times while sitting in the front row... Mike's da best!

This class and prof are a joke. I learned absolutely nothing and his lectures are horrible. Very unclear and disorganized and I don't think he even knows what is going on most of the time. His textbook is also terrible. I don't recommend this course and it is far from being a good environment since there are 75 students in a *seminar* course.
