She's a fun professor and definitely made class very interesting at times. She was very understanding to students whom that may had been their first time acting and helped them out. She's tough on attendance but it's a very relaxed class and we had only 2 performances. She's a tough grader but other than that very interesting and inspiring at times

There are easier teachers out there. A lot of things about this class was very unnecessary. Her grading rubric is the most ABNORMAL thing you will ever see. Everyone starts off with 300 points and it can only decrease. Being late and/or absent will hurt your grade. Tough grader for sure. Something positive? This class will boost your creativity.

Makes acting way more difficult than it should be. Is very critical and rude. Assignments are unclear and does not give syllabus until halfway through the semester. Unnecessary work.

Her grading criteria is very unclear and she attempts to humiliate students. Bad grade? Doesn't matter she won't help.

Professor Perrin overall wasn't a bad teacher. She really tries her hardest to teach her students about what acting is really about, but she does it in a very strict way. You need to take this class seriously or you won't pass. She is a tough grader on certain things, you get 3 free absences per semester. There is one long paper you have to do.

Overall Dian was so unnecessarily stressful. If you're taking this for a easy A, DONT. Her take home quizzes are full of trick questions, she's a heavy grader on the monologues which have no clear criteria and she won't tell you why she got the grade. Her overall attitude is very off-putting and unapproachable and she makes you feel very stupid.

Overall this class was a good experience, but she is a nit-picky grader. She will give you the opportunity to redo assignments and attempt to make up the points, she also gives out some bonus points throughout the semester. A few scenes, two take home tests, a 4 page paper, and a longer scene for the final.

Everyone is going to get an A or B but this class is too much work. Take a different teacher if you can. She is very critical on all assignments. The class is very fun and you will enjoy acting with this professor. The final scene is very long to memorize though.

Diane was a great teacher. You can clearly see her love for theater, and she makes it really fun for those who are interested. If you are shy and don't like to perform in front of peers, this is not the class for you. But, if you love the spotlight or want to step out of your box this class is a perfect fit. If you have common sense you'll get an A

This class is very difficult for a intro level course to acting. Every class felt sooo long. She's also a stickler for grammar. I would recommend taking this class with another professor. She has a really intimidating vibe.

If you are new to acting this class is perfect for you. But if you have experience in acting, this class will be sooo basic. You do theatre games for two months and only two scenes. And she is really uptight about grammar. She should be an english teacher. She will take points off for little mistakes. Read her directions and edit your papers.

For those of you who expect to get A's by just coming to class, this is not the class for you. The professor lets you know exactly what you have to do on the first day, so there are no surprises. She rewards effort and is very flexible. She is not the typical "drama" person, because she is very quiet, but she is pleasant and makes class fun.

Professor Perrin is awesome, and i would definitely recommend this class if you enjoy acting. She wants everyone to get an a or b plus at the lowest. You only have one play review, a character description, and a theater game assignment and two scripts to memorize for the whole semester. she's also understanding if you forget something is due

I was looking forward to this class but it did not meet my expectations. It was difficult for a 100 level class. There's a few papers and you have to attend a play outside of class, along with in class acting assignments. There is no final but you have to memorize a 10 minute scene. I think the class would have been better with a different teacher.

She tells you exactly what she expects from you. She makes her Acting 101 class write a 4 page paper on a play, memorize pages (mine was 7) of text then act it out, lip sync, and write reviews of characters. It's a lot of work to do for a 101 class. I made it out alive, but many people dropped.

She seems really boring at first but she's pretty nice! She grades like any other prof. so don't assume because its acting 101 that it'll be an easy A. You do kinda have to work for a good grade but its fun. The activities/exercises she does are hilarious and are great fo getting people out of their comfort zones. Take her, you'll be okay.

Nice teacher, doesn't really talk much though. I've never acted before and was really nervous but it's really not that bad and everyone has to do it so it's not like your singled out. I recommend it for a gen ed it's definitely an easy A

Acting is a fun class as you get to know everyone in the class. Perrin, however is very intimidating. You must show up to class and do well on your final performance. I thought I would do horrible but I received an A-. If you take it with her, just show up and do your best. I would try to take Acting with a more motivated teacher though.
