Very interesting class, also difficult. It deals with relativity and other hard subjects. While Im somewhat bitter I got a b-, it was really intriguing. Dolan is perhaps the most intelligent man I have had the pleasure of learning from. Several writing assignments, and 2 midterms from class lectures

I went to class every day, worked hard on the essays, took great notes, and still had to work really hard for a C. He is a great astronomer but it doesn't realize that lay people can't easily understand a lot of concepts. His lectures weren't that interesting.

Attention: At first all the students were kinda in an euphoria after Dolan: he's funny, experienced in astronomy and really tries to make the class interesting by joking around. BUT: he's grading your essays like an English teacher, he'll find mistakes where even Word spell-check won't. and that will seriously lower your grade. So be ready!

If you want to pass, you MUST go to class or have someone that takes good notes. I recommend saving them on a laptop b/c it is easy to find things during tests (2 tests both are open notebook). Do writing assignments, they're super easy. A little confusing, but cool guy overall. Missed class the entire last 2 months of school and got a B.

Really easy explorations class. YOU DO NOT NEED TO READ THE ASSIGNED BOOK! Print out his viewgraphs from his internet site, then take notes of EVERY additional information he gives in class (trust me, he'll test you on it). Open notes/open book tests, so good notes will determine your test score. The 4 essays have NO MINIMUM LENGTH requirement! =P

HUGE EGO - Final exam Q: where did he graduate from? Very difficult professor. TAKE NOTES or FAIL -- so attendence is mandatory for success. Often rude/put down to student questions. Boring lectures -- even if subject is your life.
