If you are premed, or not a zoology person, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. the guy clearly loves what he does, and expects you to put a lot of time in. if you have more important classes (like physics or orgo chem or A+P) you wont have enough time to spend on everything. Every lab is an impossible 10 point quiz Avoid like the plague if you can help it!

although he is extremely knowledgeable and precise, he is rude and condescending. He marks off for misspelling words even if it is the correct word. While he says he wants you to ask questions, when you do he makes you feel stupid, like your question is ridiculous! He made me HATE what I once loved!

VERY hard to determine grade/whether to stay in the class b/c there's only one grade (1st exam) before drop period and only 3 exams including the final. 3 100point lecture exams, 2 125point lab exams. plus one paper and field notebook. exams cover a LOT of material becuase there's only 3. One mandatory field trip.

not as bad for herp as for zoo- still very high expectations. very knowledgable, somewhat devious. expects a lot from students. lab grade based on 2 125point exams. also 3 lecture exams including final. challenging class, requires a lot of effort but interesting material and good teacher. study hard and do the reading assignments.

Oh my, an instructor who expects his students to put as much effort into their education as he does. What a monster. How dare he expect students to work for their grades. He wants students to learn? Think? maybe ask questions? If you've had an instructor who didn't expect as much from you as Dr. Forester, they did you a disservice.

unrealsitic exprectations, lab grade based only on very hard quizzes, unforgiving if you can't make extra credit seminars or review sessions, expects you to devote all of your time to just his class. passionate and knowledgeable about the subject but made me hate something i loved.

Do the extra credit for this man! without it I would have never even gotten a C. The tests require a tremendous an=mount of studying and I cannot stress how much you should ATTEND THE REVIEW SESSIONS FOR EXAMS they are extremely useful for what will be on the test.

He has lab quizzes every week that you have to study for as if they were exams. Extremely high expectations. Must study hard and don't fall behind. A lot of people dropped or failed. He offers some extra credit, which is how I passed.

His expectations are ridiculous for a sophmore level class. The 1st day he said that 1/2 the class wouldnt be there @ the end of the semester. He listed the # of grades after the 1st test- more than 1/2 the class failed (had a slide of 2 semesters ago & reflected the same data)- blames the students for the grades claiming that its lack of studying.

he is just made the class something that I would never expect. No matter how much you study for a lab quiz, you'll fail. he nit-picks with every little thing and expects people to know every last damn detial about every part of evry animal. he's rediculous.

Loved him as a teacher. Although he is extremely hard, you will learn a TON in this class. He's a great teacher, really clear and gets the point across, all the lab quizzes really get you ready for the exams even though they're hard.

Ehh. That's a good word to describe the class. Dr. Forester really knows his stuff, and you'll learn a lot if you want to, but he's kind of a dick. Tests aren't hard if you study, but lab quizzes are killer. If you study for the lab quizzes and tests, and pay attention, you'll get a B.

Dr. Forrester is a bad professor. Flat out. Tests are easy. But those damn lab quizes will bury you. Igot As on tests but failed quizes on a regular basis. I can not stress this enough. If you are a premed studen avoid him like the plague. YOU WILL NOT GET AN A. Zoology is supposed to be an easy A. He does not think so.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Dr Forester is the WORST teacher I have ever had! His demands are insane! I am a senior and I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A C IN ANY CLASS BEFORE AND I NEARLY FAILD THIS CLASS. he puts so much material on his exams its not possible to learn it all, he makes fun of you for asking questions and its pretty obvious that he hates minorities.

Dr. Forester is a really great professor. Yes the course is difficult, but I think most of the information is necessary ,or atleast, interesting for Bio majors. I was fairly interested in the course, attended most classes and never missed a lab and I probably have a B. If you study it's not that bad.

I agree with everyone else's ratings. This guy was nearly the worst, toughest teacher I have ever encountered. I also picked up on a bit of sex discrimination during classes/labs. He took the male students much more seriously than the females. The tests were horrendous! Even the most mundane piece of info was fair game on an exam! DON'T TAKE!

I had him for Zoology, and he sticks to the same way of teaching. Uses power points which are sometimes boring @ 930AM. Recitations are kinda boring, you have to read articles and talk about them. But Dr. Forester is always enthusatic and ready to teach you. Pretty str8forward...easy B---if you study. Time consuming ethogram big part of grade

This class sucked hard on so many levels. Studying the lab manual pics won't help b/c he will test u on slides of the dissected organisms. Thus, the lab quizzes are ridiculously difficult and will drastically **** up your grade. DO NOT TAKE!
