Heck is a pretty funny guy. Not sure if it was the fact that I took a summer course with him, but I had some trouble picking out the important points of this course. He encourages students to contact him, and gives great feedback and explanations. It's hard to focus sometimes since he tends to ramble every so often, but all-in-all great professor.

Easily the best professor i've had in 4 years. Lecture kept me awake even at 8am. Actually cares about students and will work with you if you have problems. He really gets into what he's teaching and makes coming to class rewarding. I would take anything from him.

very helpful. Easy to talk to and encouraged 1 on 1 help sessions. Lecture was ok to listen to even at 8 am. helped me turn a midtem D into a final B. I recomend.

He was cool but he really a little too wacko when he was going to give his lectures on sex and reproduction. The funniest thing he told us was that if a guy took too many steroids his balls might fall off!! haha... that was just a joke.

This guy makes bio somewhat interesting. His exams are directly from his lecture notes so make sure you print them off his web page. Do not waste your money on the text book. He also has a new experimental class about basic pharmacology offered Spr 04.

Tests were 50 Multiple Choice questions and usually were pretty detailed. Lecture--very boring. He's really helpful if you go talk to him. On another note, the book is like $80, and you don't need to buy it, since the tests are over lecture/notes.
