First off, being a bio major I was lost the whole time in this class. Two, Kovacic for some reason wants you to read from the book but teaches something very different from it. Although, as long as you go to class, do the homework, and show up and take the tests, You are basically guaranteed to pass. So if you get this class just try.

2 out of ten. I would not recommend Don. Only take his class if you have a firm understanding of accounting. Otherwise, you will be lost. I would recommend taking Acct 202 at a Community College. Your GPA will thank you.

He is a really cool guy who teaches one of the more harder subjects in business, but if you do the homework and do a fair amount of serious studying you will pass the class. Go to every class because he takes roll and if you have any trouble make sure you ask for help because he really does want to help his students out.

He can not make accounting any easier... He curves the tests where other professors on campus don't. Tests are hard though so he makes your life easier. Practice problems on review day are very similar to the exam questions so focus on those. Connect HW was a pain but I was able to deal with it. #dontyawn #dontwearhoodies #dontwearahat

Online hw due every week lots of problems hard to get done on time, class is all lecture based (must bring book to class)Prof makes you participate calls on you if you wear hoodies or if you yawn.. overall very funny and the class is enjoyable to be in but very hard. Acct in general is very hard but Kovacic tries his best to make it understandable

Kovacic. Is. Amazing. I highly recommend him. He cares about his students and will stop his lecture to make sure anyone confused gets caught up. He keeps you accountable and expects high class participation. His exams are difficult but that can be expected because of the course material. His lectures clarify everything. Just ask him for help.

First exam and paper project due on the same day(3 weeks after the first week) 55 multiple questions need to calculate in only 75 mins. Huge essay needs watch three 45mins videos then write three different accounting memos by using knowledge from the chapter 2-4.

He is a very intelligent man and has many degrees, however, it is upsetting because he just doesn't know how to teach it to students that don't know accounting already. If you take the class be ready to teach yourself.

This class is really hard. However he curves everything so If you go to most of the classes and do the homework it helps in the long run. His lectures are confusing but before each test he does practice problems-write all these down and study them because its extremely similar to test. Also do really good on writing assignment it helps!!!

I think Don is a great professor. He comes into class with a smile on his face everytime and it puts me in a good mood. Accounting is a hard class but Don teaches it in such a way that it makes sense. He cares about his students. I took this class with a different prof and Don's way of teaching was a lot easier to understand. I recommend him

This was the hardest class I think I've ever taken (Yet). He helpful if you ask but explains the same way he already explained and you end up looking stupid and pretend you understood. There is a lot of memorization you absolutely have to read right before class or you're lost all class period.

Kovacic is an interesting professor, as a business major I was never bored in his class. He's very knowledgeable and his teaching style worked for me. His class was really easy due to the curve. I never even read the book and I received an A. The excel project took a few hours but it was just busy work. I would take him again.

Hard class that's for sure. 4 exams including final. Going to class is a grade, so go. Online homework helps with exams a ton. Huge excel project and paper. He isn't that clear on what he wants on them so make sure you do them way ahead of time. Hard class, not easy. Really good professor though.

Don is a very real world Professor. He comes off very stubborn but after taking him for 2 semesters now I find him hilarious. Most students seem to not enjoy the way he teaches his class but it truly is for the best and really does help you learn. Hats, hoods and yawning.

If you want to learn how to be an accountant, this is your man. Act like an adult, be a manwoman, show up, be interested in your major. You will be walking up to the board & solving the problem. You're always fair game. IMO that's how it should be. I walked in late and was instantly handed a dry-erase marker. I worked hard & passed w 109%.

Comment:

Go to his office hours if you're struggling. Don is a really cool guy that teaches a really difficult subject. Try hard on the assignments and you'll have some leeway on test grades. The Accounting Lab is really helpful too. He makes everyone in class participate on the board, be accountable if you don't know the answer and he'll help you out.
