The course was based 75% on prelims (4 exams) and only 5% on homework, so you definitely have to earn your grade. That being said, Grant is an awesome professor and is super clear about his examples. He'll solve problems several ways in class which really helps you understand how certain things relate. Attend lectures and you will be just fine

Easily the easiest grader as far as partial credit goes. Don't skip too many classes otherwise you'll get behind. Tests are 3 questions no extra credit. correct Free Body Diagrams is all he wants. 2 of the 3 tests questions are from the 7th edition of the book. Homework is crazy hard so just copy solutions from online.

Dr. Grant is easily the best professor that the Engineering Department has. His classes are not easy but students learn more from him than any other professor ? hands down. Great man. Easy to talk to. Will answer any questions and is very respectful. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him ? you?d be a fool not to.

Really a terrible teacher. Grades fairly and all that, but I have literally never heard any emotion in his voice. He spends way too long on unnecessary things, like rearranging simple equations. Homework is very and and so are tests. Much better to have than Boyle though. I'll take learning over easy grades any day.

Great Prof from a theoretical learning perspective. Kind of like susec, except with solid mechanics. Is very willing to help, i think that most are intimdated by his super somberness and the fact that he's the dean, but very approachable and helpful. YOU WILL WORK YOUR ASS OFF though. gives away HW like he's giving away candy.

Dude is okay, very hard, tricky test questions, some bs in the class -examples on tests don't reflect real world needed knowledge as much as MASTERY of what he taught. Nice guy, awkward to talk to, but he will help. Plan on lots of studying. LOTS.

Difficult professor. Learned a lot in class but worked hard for a C. Lots of examples used in class, but tests are open book NOT open notes. Very difficult hw due every night and difficult tests

ARRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!! All I can say to those who are required to take this class and haven't... Brace yourself, it is AWFUL!!! This is the most difficult class I've had along with the most boring professor. ALSO, hw is due every class!!! blah!
