Comment:

The lectures are amusing and you gain an idea of the time period studied in its social context, but she absolutely refuses to relate anything to the present day, thus obliterating my reasons for learning anything historical. Hence, a warning: don?t have your essays relate to anything but the eighteenth century: she will accuse you of ?presentism?.

Obsessed with Bell Curving marks, so even if you excel, your grades will be made average if you?re in a brilliant class. Her assignment distribution is unfair; beware of where you sit in the circle of desks she makes you create every class, because you will have papers due accordingly.

In her own world, she seems to to impart vast and irrelevant trivia on her captive audience rather than teach. She treats upper-level undergraduates as if they are ignorant and naïve, and does't seem to appreciate their input into the material - conveniently centred on her own very narrow area of research.
