She doesn't speak English, She takes forever to get back to you, her quizzes are biased, she is a religious freak, and overall if you miss you miss everything. If you do take, take it online!!!!!

Honestly I think this woman hated me. Even though I would read everything she'd still shoot me down anytime I asked a question by saying "Well if you had read..." Heaven forbid you ask any sort of questions. Also, she's very judgemental so be careful.

While I've heard mixed things about Dr. Shin as an in-class professor, definitely reconsider taking her before signing up for her online course. The lectures were straight text --no audio or visuals, and a lot of book work. The quizzes were 30-50 questions, all true or false, and you had multiple chances to retake them, so that part wasn't too bad.

Dr. Shin is the most difficult professor I've taken at MU. That being said, I did the work and I still got an A in the class. You will be spending a good bit of time online with her class. It wouldn't be so difficult if you didn't have to carry 15 credits to graduate on time. Also NO help if your "group" decides to not help with projects.

This woman made my first semester hell. Take someone else if you can. She's very difficult to understand and while I did well in the class; I hated it so much.

Needed an advanced writing course, so I chose this one to learn how to write more professionally. Dr. Shin is very nice and willing to help if you need it. Group projects and homework assignments aren't too bad, and the drafts assist in honing your skills. The final paper at the end was actually really interesting. Would definitely take her again!

Such a sweet and nice person, but didn't even know the time our class ended or that it was half online. I would take her class again because it was an easy A, but class was pointless and I never felt like I learned anything; I learned everything from the online assignments. There were also four group assignments which weren't too bad.

Dr. Shin is very vague. Shin just is not very clear about what she wants us to know about each writer and what she wants for the oral presentation. The essays on her exams are almost impossible. Personally, in the fall 2014 semester, she told one of my classmates that they was hopeless.

Where do I even begin ... she is the WORST communicator I think I have ever witnessed. She vaguely tell you about assignments, and thats even if you can understand her broken English. The class was blended and a disaster.

Teacher is really vague. Our big 14 page paper for our end of the year assignment is explained in five sentences in the syllabus. She is flexible if you build personal rapport with her though. Her office hours were scheduled when she had another class. She's a tough grader but is willing to explain something for hours if needed.

I really did like shin, She is very nice. She is however a hard grader. She tends to make things due all on the same night. For example: We had a Quiz online, 60 questions. 4 Exercises;actually kinda in depth you cant just write them in an hour, and a 3 page group writing assignment due all on the same night. Some weeks can be stressful.

I actually really liked Dr. Shin. A lot of people said she was really hard to understand, but I think that's just the entitled American mind set. I had no trouble understanding her 95% of the time.

Drop her class now. I did not learn a single thing from this professor. She is confusing about assignments. She is rude to students, she is belittling and confrontational. She looked over my resume and literally said these words. " Do you honestly think you have accomplished enough to have a 2 page resume? "... that pretty much describes her.

Dr. Shin is very knowledgeable. She knows what she's talking about, and once you get used to her accent you can understand her fairly easily. However, her test questions are very difficult to understand. She lost my test and made me retake it. She tried to tell me I took a scantron out of class. She's no help outside of class.

She's a very kind person, and means well. She'll help students if they really need it. You take a few quizzes, but they're not too hard, and you write a few papers as groups. As long as you show up most of the time and do the work, you'll easily pass with a good grade.

Nice, caring professor-but extremely frustrating. Poor command of the English language. Test questions were worded so badly- the students were left to guess her meaning. She's highly professional, knowledgeable and likeable-but students will likely carry the burden of her shortcomings.
