Comment:

Makes a tough class feel easy. Some how manages to be light hearted and intimidating simultaneously. Pretty funny. There was no mandatory homework so the class wound up being graded by 4 exams with the final being 40 percent of the grade.

I was in his last semester at SC. He will be a great loss, as he was a wonderful professor. Hilarious, and very entertaining. I hope whatever he does after his time here goes well, as hes honestly a cool and caring dude. Im happy I was able to take his course, I learned many essential things. Hes honestly pretty sweet. He has more Dad type jokes. Can originally come kind of rude, but hes just joking around, and is actually really kind. He likes to give out decent amount of extra credit, but have to show up to classes to get it! He posts homework online, although its optional (although very important, since practice makes perfect).

Ask anyone who the Best math professor is at Scraft, the answer is always Kavanaugh. Highlly recommend taking him. Math is a tough subject for me and he was the best at explaining everything while giving us notes to copy from the board. He is very hilarious. Keeps Lec's fun. Helps a lot when you ask. You won't regret taking him.

I wasn't happy with the communication. The assignment instructions on Blackboard tend to be very vague and he doesn't provide any feedback. You don't get to see your tests quizzes, or assignments after they are graded. You just see you grade with no explanation. If you email him for clarification he does responds but often doesn't directly answer

He subbed for my current math class for 2 days and after the first day literally everyone in my class wanted him to teach the class for the rest of the semester, he explained the criteria so clearly the whole class understood how to do it. HIGHLY recommend taking him.

I use to hate math with a burning passion. Kavanaugh makes math relevant and fun. I would suggest him to anyone. He can get the grumpiest person to crack a smile. He is a tough grader but, he teaches extremely well.

I loved Kavanaugh. After having a bad experience with previous math courses, he was able to explain things in an easy and funny way. I wish he taught more classes! He hands out reviews for tests and goes over them in class. Homework is mostly optional, but he has a question or two every week for credit.

If you struggle with math, then take professor Kavanaugh!!! Going to class is a must as his lectures are informative. Do your hw and you'll have no problem passing. I've always struggled with math and I passed with an 85%!

Very enjoyable class, professor Kavanaugh is hilarious and knows his stuff! I took his class Monday-Thursday for an hour and it helped doing math everyday for a bit (I'm awful at math). He doesn't give homework though so your grade is based on test scores and extra credit. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT

He is very funny and knowledgeable. If you need help he won't give you the right answer, but instead a push in the right direction to make you solve problems by yourself. The tests aren't too difficult if you do his practice tests.

First time I ever got an A in a math class since Geometry in High School. Best math teacher ever. Everything is straightforward and the study guides really help for the test. Do whatever you have to do to get him for your math class.

Best math teacher I've had at Schoolcraft by far! I had him in the Fall of 2016, and he was such a gem. He really cares about his students succeeding. I would take him again if I could!
