He may have been a great professor back in the day, but that time has passed. His lectures are opinion based, and so are the tests, which by the way are almost nonsensical. Dont worry about failing though, everyone does so he just curves the tests. This class is a joke. if he taught more classes in my major i would pick a new one. the worst.

He is a nice guy with a different type of humor. He does not like phones in his class. He WILL yell at you if you're on it. We watched a lot of different movies that were interesting. He is very smart and knows what he is talking about. He claimed to have taken roll but maybe took it 3 times. I missed class a couple of times and did well.

Confusing lectures. He is never really clear on anything, he's a great and funny guy. He's just a random and hard to follow teacher. If you take this class, read the book. Also write down really important things he says.

Kimbrell is a brilliant man and very well educated. He goes off on funny tangents about the political system which makes the class interesting and he a genuinely good guy. If you attend class, he will work with you if you have to miss or need help. Phones are a big no though. His tests/papers are extremely hard and confusing though. Be careful!

Dr. Kimbrell was extremely hard to follow during lectures. Then, we seemed to be tested on mostly his opinions on America and sometimes actual media. It was mostly just a big "WHAT?" all semester.

Mr Kimbrell is annoying and horrible. He mumbles and has so ma.ny side notes that you don't know whether or not it's apart of the lecture or not. He lectures for the entire class and half to none of it makes sense

He is an awesome professor and is willing to work with students as long as they are willing to ask. I learned so much more than I expected. I would MOST definitely take another one of his classes, if I could.

Professor Kimbrell is one of the best professors I've ever had.I honestly was brought to tears the first and last day of class, by his passion for education and intellectual freedom. In a class of 150+ that's impressive. However, I'm a softy so... Not a super easy professor, but open your mind and you'll do fine!

This guy is the worst. I agree with him politically, and initially found his sarcasm refreshing. A few weeks in I began to notice that a lot of his mumbling was incomprehensible and his side comments are so often you can't tell if it's part of what he's saying. He isn't funny, and is even a bit demeaning to students. He was very hard to follow.

I have him for American Media. He's extremely hilarious, and very opinionated, but you learn to appreciate it from him. He's also extremely smart so his lectures can be a little difficult to follow if you're easily distracted, but overall his class is definitely an experience! Very good teacher!

It's true that it's very hard to study for Kimbrell's test. However he grades with a very generous curve,so if you study even a little you will most likely pass. He lectures a lot about his views however he is a very interesting man and has a great sense of humor!

I had him for American Media and for Free Expression. He takes attendance. His classes are only hard if you don't show up and pay attention. The tests are based on class notes(pro tip: take notes on movies shown too) and the book. He is politically liberal & unapologetic. He has a good sense of humor. You'll learn a lot in his classes.

This class was the worst. I rarely dislike a class so much that I dread going. Kimbrell talks down to students like they don't care and just rambles on and on about everything that he thinks is wrong with America. He tries to be funny but fails horribly at doing so.

Interesting, and infuriating. This guy always has a story to tell, but 90% of what he teaches is his opinion. EXTREMELY liberal, and mocks other beliefs. On the plus side, there is a huge grading curve, so the tests aren't too difficult.

Amazing teacher. Going to class was a real pleasure. Tests are very difficult but there is usually a generous curve. If you want to know the history of media then this man can tell you about it. Brilliant speaker! I learned a lot in this class, but had to work hard for my A.

A wonderful teacher and man. His tests are extremely hard, but he grades them very generously. He is a great speaker, very funny, and extremely knowledgeable about his field. If you're looking for an easy grade, do not take him. If you are actually looking to learn, then I highly recommend him.

He knows what he is talking about but doesn't teach well. His tests are IMPOSSIBLE! You have to know the information backward and forward in order to pass. It's ridiculous. He doesn't offer much opinion of others, only talks about his own opinion.
