Very good professor who gives informative and vivid lectures. Must read from book and do assigned problems as he randomly calls on people in class. Tests are very long with 90-100 mc questions some easy some hard but manageable. Also gives us access to Bloomberg platform which is very useful for financial advisors

Great professor! His lectures are long but interesting and he keeps students engaged. He calls on students in class to answer questions so make sure you've read and are paying attention. His tests can be slightly tricky but are multiple choice. If you read and pay attention this class is an easy A but you end up learning a surprising amount.

He is a good teacher, his lectures (where he randomly calls on everyone in the class) help teach the material. The tests are long and not easy but I would call fair. It was disappointing however to score higher than the mean and median of the class on both exams while having perfect attendance and only receiving a B grade. He's a tough grader!

Anyone complaining about Prof. Mantell being difficult probably shouldn't be in finance anyway. Yes, he calls on people to ensure their current with the readings. I found that extremely helpful. His lectures were clear and exams were fair (MC). If your not lazy and getting a finance degree because everyone else is, Mantell is an excellent choice.

If I could take one professor for the rest of my MBA career, Professor Mantell would be it. He is most eloquent in his lectures and really makes sure you understand the material. Likely the most worthwhile course I've taken in Finance at Pace. True, exams are hard and require thorough understanding of all the chapters covered, which is fair.

Tough class. Teacher is rude to students. Exams were long but fair. Lectures very boring. Look elsewhere for a finance professor.

This professor is head and shoulders above all the other professors I've had in finance. His lectures are extremely clear. His examinations are tough but fair. You can't bs your way through this course. If you're looking for a course you can coast through, this professor is not for you. He calls on people in class so be prepared.

The professor expects class participation and is fair. The grade you deserve is the grade you receive. The class itself is not hard, you just have to be willing to study and be prepared.

Mantel is strict, but his lectures are some of the most useful and informative I have ever experienced at Pace university. The way he explains financial concepts really allows students to obtain a deep understanding of complex corporate finance material. Not an easy A, but if you are looking for very informative lectures, he is the person to take.

This is not an easy class. There are only two exams, which are difficult. Be sure to read the text book and understand it. Also, he makes it a point to call on everyone in class. Be ready to answer questions on the spot.

Horrendocus. He's rude, disrespectful and should not be teaching anymore. He blatently ignores questions during class and will tell you he's busy when you show up at his office. The worst part is that he will tell you not to worry about formulas for his test then you find out half the test requires them. Avoid if possible.

You get your money's worth. Read the book before class so you can participate in class. The material is from the book so you have a back up if you don't understand a topic in class. The guy works so he expect students to also do work. Great Prof. - just do the work.

This professor treats his students as adults who want to learn technical material. If you're intellectually lazy, this is not the course for you. The professor is impatient with students who don't do the assigned reading. He's also intolerant of whiners but he's very willing to help outside the classroom. The tests are demanding but fair.

tests are difficult, he follows the book to the word. If he said that he wont include something in the exam, dont believe him, study everything! Exams are closed book and final is comprehensive, and be prepared to know how to derive formulas. If you fail midterm, dont bother and withdraw from the class.

This professor is very demanding but he is a fair grader. He wants students to read the text before class and he asks questions of every student. Don't take him if you're looking for a course you can sleep through. He knows the material cold and if you do the readings and pay attention in class, you'll come away with a lot of financial skills.

Read and you will be fine, be prepared for class because he calls on random people (volunteer whenever possible if you know the answer to get him to pass you on random questions). No need to do the assigned HW as long as you read the material and understand it. He follows book to a "T". Only a midterm and final for your grade... tests are not easy!

This professor does not play around. With him it's not a question of "if" you are called, it's "when" you are called on. He is not taking anything out on his students, rather he is trying to uphold what MBA studies ought to be. I never learned so much about not only Eco but about being prepared and seeing things through.Look elsewhere for easy grad
