You really need to put the effort into class. Read the book! She tends to have a lot of student input in her class and it is rarely straight lecture, even when we were doing grammar, a topic she is picky on (tells us ahead of time). Gives great help on essays.

She's tougher but more than fair. She has the best late policy I've seen (no marks detracted or judgmental glares but doesn't include commentary on late papers). You want her comments though; she will help you become a better student. A rare teacher who teaches, and the best prof I've ever had.

You have to work hard but she makes it worth it. She puts in tons of time into assignments,course selection, etc. you have to do same. Clear, ariculate, stickler for grammer(gives warning), loves literature on a deeper level than anyother Eng prof I know!
