Ed Boylan should learn to teach. Just because he knows how to do calculus problems doesn't demonstrate his ability to teach.

AVOID this teacher at all costs. Although he always asks "is this clear" if you don't understand and ask him several times he just tells you he isn't going to repeat himself. Homework is useless. Tests are ok if you actually study the sample test. I never go to class cause its so useless.

I took him over the summer, best decision I've ever made. Attendance was not mandatory, and hw was not collected-but I definitely recommend doing hw as practice for exams. He hands out old exams if you go to class, which are usually the exact same format as the exam he's going to give out to you. He assumes you know things, so just ask questions.

He is the hardest, yet easiest teacher. Definitely try to get your hands on some older exams, otherwise you won't know what hit you. He doesn't teach you anything in lecture. In my class everyone just had their textbooks and old exams out while he slept during the exam. His jokes are bad too

He was extremely easy. He gave out practice exams which were exactly like the exams with simply the numbers changed. Gives out homework, but, does not grade. However, there are quizzes with the TAs, but those are easy as well.

took calc-2 with him. Attendance is not mandatory. He doesn't know how to teach but if u do the practice quizzes which he gives before exams then it's an easy A..!! If u don't really need to learn calc-2 & just taking it for fun than take him It's an easy A

If you pay attention you will be fine. I had any problems with the class it was with the other students. We would have to go over problems 7 times for the same group of students mostly because they were talking and not paying attention. Most professors would maybe go through it twice, but he was kind enough to constantly repeat material.

He is EXTREMELY BORING. Hard to focus. Better off studying from book. I never went to class... the only reason I passed with an A is because I took AP Calc in High School. If you have never taken calc before you won't understand anything and will be confused the whole time.

Too much to say about this professor, negative and positive. His lessons are useless, but he makes up for it by giving you a sample test which is always VERY similar to the actual exam. He allows a "formula sheet" that you make and bring as reference during exam. Def a math class where a B or higher is highly possible to achieve wit a little effort

he is a nice guy. Ur gonna be hearing "is this clear? r u with me?" a LOT. Textbook is a must i didnt get it and ended up with a 42 on the test and dropping the course (my fault).. HONESTLY he is not as bad as some ppl make him look like, one of the girls was reading the chapter b4 the class and paying attention in class and ended up with an A.

He's boring and u're going to need to read the book to understand cuz he teaches fast. Go to recitation classes cuz that's the way u'll learn. Do hw b4 class any case u have ques. He doesn't like to go back on lessons. I recommend buying the workbk cuz it helps showing the steps. Exams straight off the sample quizzes. If u listen, u'll understand

you def need to do the homework..but in my opinion if you really pay attention in class and try to understand his strategies it turns out he does in fact makes a lot of sense...he had some funny but really corny jokes...and the exams were extremely easy...just study off of the sample tests and your looking at an A+

If you don't know what your doing in precalc. then this professor is not for you. He writes too small for anyone pass the 5th row to see and stands in the way of everything he writes. He makes a couple of jokes which makes the class go by, but I only went to class a couple times and when i did i just did HW in there. Your basically teaching yoursel

Given that you are learning the material for the first time, avoid this professor. He writes small, mumbles,&breezes through the material. If you're good in math or know precalc, then take him. Once you get your syllabus, do the homework & study on your own.I went to class 6 times this sem, and ended up with an A.His exams are replicas of the sample

Lets put it this way: if you think you know precalc, take him, if you don't know precalc, dont take him. His tests are not bad.His sample test is usually what a real test is, but you really need to study on your own because he is horrible
