I had him for 5 German classes and I would most definitely take more with him if I could. One of the best professors Ive had. Great feedback on exams and assignments. Ask him anything you need to and hell give a perfect answer. Not many professors can come close. Volunteer once every class, study a bit, and youll do great.

He is probably one of my favorite professors I've had. He is a great teacher and is very knowledgeable. Although, do not take his class if you just want to have a language. He gears the class towards German majors/minors and frequently wants people to take all the German courses. Awesome professor if you want to take German. Highly recommend

Dr. Smith is a nice professor and is knowledgeable about the German language and culture. His class is not bad, but he focuses more on the culture than the language. As it is a basic language class, I was hoping to learn more about the language and less about the culture. However, the class is interesting and not difficult. Many others enjoyed it.

Of the few online classes I've taken at Rowan, Professor Smith's class was definitely the most engaging. He gives great feedback on assignments and, based on his involvement in class discussions, you can tell he genuinely cares about the course and his students.

Prof Smith was absolutely great. This class was very interesting. He kept my attention every single week. My father got sick during the semester and Professor Smith was completely understanding and caring about the entire situation.

I took Professor Smith for both Elementary German 1 and 2 for my senior year. I could not have asked for a better professor. He is clear, humorous, and very helpful. He makes it clear what will be on tests and never gives excessive amounts of homework. I highly recommend Professor Smith. He was one of the best professors I took at Rowan.

Dr. Smith is a nice guy, but his lectures are fairly lengthy and boring. However, he cares about his subject and as long as you do the homework and study a little bit, you should be okay. He is not a tough grader at all.

I hesitated to take a three-week course which was Monday through Friday for 4.5 hours. I was happy that I did. The lectures never got stale, it felt like a History Channel special. It was very entertaining and very informative. The material was presented from different perspectives and really gave a sense of being back in history. He was accessible

the best professor rowan has to offer. His German may be fluent but honestly his English is perfect too. Hes so well spoken and intelligent that every lecture feels like a Ted Talk. Take any class he teaches, he has so much wisdom to share, but also you'll grow as a person. You will develop a passion for German I guarantee it. Take, take, take!!

I enjoyed Dr. Smith's German Literature class. He was very clear on hi feedback when it came to papers. He also was good at communicating with you that you missed an assignment and he would give you a day to turn it in. I would highly recommend him for anyone considering one of his classes.

My favorite German professor. The class is not boring at all, making learning a foreign language fun. I particularly like the speaking and grammar practice. I learned a lot without even realizing it. Besides, Herr Schmit is respectful and charming.

Prof. Smith is one of my favorite professors, ive had him 3 semesters and he really makes learning german fun. His lectures are enjoyable and the tests and quizzes dont kill you. He gives you solid feedback and lets you know what you could improve, Do the homework even if he doesnt check it, it will be worth it. Absolutely would take again.

If you are just taking language to fulfill an HHL do not take professor smith. He's a cool guy but his workload is a lot. If you are taking this class because you want to learn German, go for it you will learn a lot from him. Not an easy class, goes a little over in time, funny sometimes, expects a lot.

Professor Smith's class was all around a really good experience. He was a great teacher and really cared about the material he was teaching us. His passion for the subject made the class more fun and he was always made it clear that mistakes were normal and not to sweat it. I would recommend Professor Smith to anyone looking to take German!

He really cares and tries to get everyone excited about German. The one downside is that he will spend forever trying to involve people that aren't paying attention. I really like him and I learned a lot! Taking his class again next semester.

As with any language you should always make sure you do the homework and spend time reading the book and going over notes. It is easy to forget what you learned if you just drop it once the class is not in session. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, he will help you. He is clearly passionate about the language and culture.
