Good class! The book was okay and her links are all pretty interesting. I met with her once on campus and she was very helpful in explaining some of the material. Also gave me a lot of advice about major/minor. I am planning to take another course from her.

Its always great to find an instructor that teaches at a higher level. I enjoyed the trip to court and found her lectures to be very informative and engaging. A+ for a job well done! Thanks, Elaine!

Horrible. Foul and rude. I took this class and her assistant commented incorrectly on my term paper. I told her i consulted a Ph.D. and an M.D. related to the point in question - didn't budge. Got an angry email from Louisell, explained how she was wrong, chastised me for the effort. I know have a higher degree than hers and know how bad she was.

Brief and simple, DON'T EVER EVER take a class with her. Why? I could go all day long to explain why she is the worst. I have had bad teachers, but never seen worse than this. Unless you want C or lower grade in your class regardless of how much your work, Never take a class with her.

She was probably the worst teacher I have EVER experienced. She talks down to her studtens and teachs at a graduate level, when she teachs at a community college. I would not advise anyone to take ANY courses by her.

I took her for online PSY 250, and she is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. The tests have almost nothing to do with the many, many pages we are told to study. Her questions have no logic behind them, and many of them are from an old version of the book. We had to go to the campus every other week for this "online" class. Just plain rud

The class was very engaging, although most of the students did not seem to want to be there. The case studies were interesting and witnessing the court hearings allowed us a first hand look into the workd of psychology. Great teacher, but you'll have to earn your grade. Not for the weak willed.

Elaine is by far the WORST instructor i have ever had. Very disrespectuful and degrading to students who had any questions. I am now a pyschologyst and she did not help me whatsoever. DO not take her i received all A's in every college course except her's i failed. How can a psych major fail her class.

This professor actually taught at a level that dignified my intelligence! My section was filled with "students" who were functioning at the middle school level. Despite this, Mrs. Louisell delivered an interesting class that was taught at the college level. I should know because I'm a guest student from another college.

I really don't understand what all the negative comments are about. Lectures involve SUPPLEMENTARY material to the text-if it was a book discussion, what would be the point of buying & reading it in the first place? Case studies are kind of pointless, but fun in the same respect. Very willing to help students. Not mean like everyone says-very nice.

The class started out with around 50 students, by the last few weeks there were only 8 left. I was planning on majoring in psychology, it was because of her class that i changed. She makes the subject way harder than it needs to be, and her condisending attitude dosent help.

This professor actually made me use my brain! I'm a non-single parent who needs organization and structure. Professor Louisell provided both...and she has a sense of humor. This course reinforced my interest in psychology and confirmed the value of my chosen career, social work.

Mrs. Louisell is an outstanding teacher. I entered her class right from a tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and was ready to learn because I didn't study much in high school. She provided the knowledge and structure I was looking for. Mrs. Louisell also provided me with excellent career advice during her office hours.

phenomenal professor. she was able to take a challenging course and make it extremely interesting and practical for both psych majors and non majors. I took the class as a summer elective, and learned more than most of the classes I took at Michigan State. Assignments were challenging but fascinating You won't regret taking her classes.

The professor teaches a difficult course, but this is college. I imagine a lot of those complaining don't read books unless a teacher makes them and take this class as a nursing requirement or to stay on their parents health insurance while working at a jewelry stand at the mall. These people probably enjoy bud light and 103.3.
