I took Prof Gargano last semester for Postmodern women in literature. I actually really enjoyed her class. You do have to read and pay attention in class. Its helpful for the final and final paper. Shes really understanding and sweet. For you to succeed in her class, you should buy every book and attempt to read them!

She was a good professor, but the lectures were kind of boring. The end of the semester is SUPER hectic because she requires a 5pg final paper, final group work presentation, a 2 page script for ur section of the pres, and a final. So that kind of sucks. But the tests aren't hard if you read, and she is a really sweet lady.

Wonderful teacher! She is my favorite teacher at UNC Charlotte. I took two classes with her and would take another in a heartbeat. She loves what she does and it shows. Be prepared to do ALL the work - you will be glad you did in the final exam (one of the longest exams I've ever taken). It is a lot of reading, but it is totally worth it!

She is an excellent teacher. Takes attendance. You have a paper at the end of the course about one of the books you read. READ the books super important class is based all on going over what happened in the chapters you were required to have read. Not very hard class if you pay attention just work hard on paper.

She's very nice & helpful but admits textbook isn't very good (true). Class is more like a psych.-philo. class than an english class. Interesting class but final exam was hardest final I've ever taken. If you're ok with a B-C you'll get it but if you want an A you'll work for it on the final (20% of grade). Mid-term & short papers were pretty easy.

Dr. Gargano is possibly the best professor in the world. She is so nice and helpful, and she really cares about helping her student's writing. Plan on reading, writing, and participating a lot... but it's really worth it!

Great teacher! The class is interesting and very helpful. Essay's are interesting and something new and different. Also a great English advisor if you need one; she really knows what she is doing. She meets with every student to discuss your essay before the due date which is very helpful. I would highly recommend her!

Dr. Gargano is one of the best professors at UNCC. She's passionate about what she teaches but doesn't expect everyone to be just like her. There's a lot of reading but if you keep up with it, there's no problems. She's a fair grader and is always available if you need her help with something. Tak her if you have to have this class.
