Comment:

Let me start off by saying English class was my worst subject in school, I prefer Math or Science. She sets her expectations clearly so be ready to do the work she asks of you. Many people complain that she is not helpful but don't listen, she will give you feedback if you ask. As long as you are willing to do the work you'll be ok. 10/10

Great professor, would take her class again. Very understanding, has high expectations but definitely not unattainable. Bring your book everyday and definitely keep up with guidelines for essays in this class

Class was upper east! All you have to do is read short stories and write simple things. I dont understand why people are complaining; its and English class, youre suppose to read and write. I detest english, yet, I passed with a high A. This is community college, it is not difficult at all compared to a university english course.

she would constantly go back and forth between teaching British English and American English. She was difficult to understand and talked about herself more than anything. I have never been given so many work sheets and assignments. She does not let you make up any missed work even with doctors note.

Hard teacher. It is hard to understand what she says sometimes due to her heavy accent. She grades very hard on grammar and spelling. Lots of quizzes and they aren't easy. Use of text book daily and a lot of reading. She goes over a lot of things during class but skips around quite a bit. Would NOT recommend taking this class to anyone

Textbook use daily. Grades heavy on grammar -test, quizzes, and papers. Had to visit the writing center lab for most of her paper assignments. Did extra credit to keep my grade. Positive qualities-provides help, available, and easy to reach. Reviews info needed for pop quizzes, useful criticism. Be on time and do your best, she will love that.

Attendance isn't graded, but she goes over everything in class so I suggest to show up & pay attention. You read a lot in the first half of the semester but its not very time consuming. She is very strict about assignments on the syllabus & is a clear grader. She gives extra credit opportunities. I missed 3 classes but thought it was an easy A

She is extremely smart, however she gives WAY too many assignments. DO. NOT. TRIP. ON how much work this class is. Many assignments are time consuming & worth 10% of your grade. If you procrastinate you will not dow ell. She requires printed copies of everything, which gets expensive quick. Make friends with your classmates, you will need support.

She isn't clear on what she wants the class to do half the time. She also skips around lessons A LOT. She is a bit harder to understand because of her heavy accent, but its fine. She assigns way too many discussion questions and her quizzes are hard. Get ready to write, write, write, and print. Do NOT take this course, save yourself the misery.

Helps if you ask. Not the best english but it does fine. Notes are hard to keep up w at times. Easy quizzes and test if you study. Nice lady get on her good side and its an easy A. Couple of long papers but if you ask her to see examples its way easier. Be on time & u cant leave early or she counts u absent.

I took her for 1302 and Lit 2328. Both classes were basically the same. You use your textbook everyday. Homework everyday but it is fairly simple or just reading. Extra credit was to go watch theater play. Work was mainly quizzes which she explains before or group work. Only test was the comprehensive fill in the blank final which wasnt too bad.

Dr. Joseph is amazing!!! Her American Literature class is easy peezy if you just show up and do the little bit of work. I have taken several literature courses and found myself having to redo them because the other instructors were hard and the work made no sense. I wish Dr. Joseph taught all the literature courses.
