Professor takes a lot of notes in class! You will be writing all class, but you copy it all from the board. A lot of graphs. But she explains it all very well. She knows what she is talking about. Homework is all multiple choice questions online. As long as you study your notes you will do fine on the test. One paper on OPEC. Awesome Professor.

Comment:

Definitely a class you have to keep up with, but she explains things extremely clearly. Her tests are tricky though. The review sheets are much easier than the actual tests. I haven't studied intensely for the tests and I've got a B+ and A- so far. One more test to go - If you're good a conceptualizing, you'll do fine.

She is very knowledgable and def knows wut shes talking about. Must go to class everyday. She can cover so much as 6 pages of notes in one class depending how long the class is. Online homework is crucial. Def recommend for Microeconomics.

Watch out for this class. For Eco 111, your entire grade comes from 3 tests. There is no option for extra credit and no way to bring your grade up. I'm in my 3rd semester at BCC and I DID have a 4.0, but I scored a B on just one of Patch's 3 tests, and it in turn got me a B in her class. Not happy with her grading system at all.

The least student friendly teacher I have ever had. Clearly shows a bias towards females. Spends most of class writing on the board with back to class. Very little back and forth with the class. Moves at a very fast pace and has little patience for questions. Not approachable.

Very difficult to understand and follow. Very boring class, she has an extremely monotone voice. It's really tough to read what she puts on the chalkboard even when you're in the front row, she scrawls things out in really tiny text. Avoid her.

The most difficult thing about this class was trying to pay attention to material that was presented in the most incredibly boring way. If you can't (it's nearly impossible), just keep up with the readings and homework and you'll do fine. With Profs like Patch, it's best to take the online class.

She was a very good teacher and yes sometimes overexplained things but she is not at fault for that. The lack of participation and ability of the students was to blame in this instance. She is a great helpful teacher who makes the material seem easy for the student as long as you pay attention.

Took her for Intro to Micro Economics. Challenging, I didn't try as much as I should have but still got a B. If you struggle in her class she'll go out of her way to help you if you need it, rare find in college. She wants you to pass. Go see her and I guarantee you will do well. Go to SI sessions if she still does them... very helpful!
