Awesome prof! Explains things very clearly, my last prof would give steps but not so much concepts. Gives the why & the how. Nice marker. Some1 mentioned that she uses easy math for her ex's: She's teaching physics not math, yes they're obviously related but this is 104 not 140, it's not meant to be math heavy, 4 students who need just basicphysics

Comment:

Elizabeth is super patient when explaining concepts, always willing to revisit things if you need it. She puts a lot of effort into making the material comprehensible and memorable. The tests mirror the homework quite closely, so if you're able to do the homework, you'll do fine on the tests. Clearly explains expectations for labs and marks fairly.

Comment:

Very kind but I think the course could have been taught better. Instead of memorizing formulas we could have spent more time actually learning about the topics. She makes a lot of mistakes during lecture which can be confusing, and the the course itself doesn't seem to be organized very well, but other than that shes not a hard prof.

I regret taking 105. Elizabeth is a complete 180 from the teacher I had in 104 she marks fairly, but god there is a ton of labs and most don't even seem to pertain to what we are learning. Her lectures are overwhelmingly boring mainly because the examples she uses are so basic and mundane that I can do the math in my head.

Good intentions, very very scattered notes, hard to understand at times. Do not buy the textbook for this class, she makes you buy a homework book and the textbook essentially becomes useless, however her hw answers are often wrong. Good diagrams and examples but hard to understand. Gives half marks for labs, but can be tough when marking them.

Awful instructor. She means well but shouldn't be teaching intro physics. If you want someone to hold your hand then sure, good luck with that, but if you care about your physics foundation avoid at all costs. Totally in-conceptual, non-intuitive, non rigorous and haptic. Notes are terrible, 20 min tangential rants, poor marking feedback.

She is very nice but also very confusing during her lectures. I find that at the end of the class I haven't learnt anything and am just left confused. She writes and talks very fast and does not explain what she is doing, just expects you to understand. I'm pretty much having to teach myself. I would recommend taking physics with another prof.

Clearly smart, but has issues dumbing things down to the 101 level. Her tests are relatively easy if you know how to use the formulas. Labs are simple, and she is an easy marker if you stick to the instructions provided. A lot of my classmates liked her, However, I will try and steer clear of any lectures that she will be a part of.

I'll NEVER take a course with her again. During labs she rambles for the majority of the period. Her lectures are boring, scattered, and inconsistent. She takes bad pictures of answer keys and posts them on D2L, but otherwise doesn't use any online resources. If you can't learn from the textbook, avoid her class. Worst prof I've had so far.

shes unintentionally hilarious and im not entirely sure why but theres a kind of glory to her demeanor 100% of the time. something about it is elegant yet offbeat and weird. she knows her stuff, thinks about where your questions came from in a way thats mind-reading and answers all the blanks you never left, too. good teach, good teach.

i loved her class, she makes everything easy for; even the labs, she tells you exactly how to do them. If you do the practice questions from the book you will very very VERY easily get a 100 in her class. I only did bad on my first test,C+, but others ALL A's. REALLY RECOMMEND HER!!!!!!!

Really great teacher. I actually understood the materials in class. Very good at explanations, willing to help you with anything, funny too. Im not a physics person and always got bad marks in highschool but I passed with a B+. Would definetly recommend.
