There are about 6 discussion posts and 2 essays but no tests except for the final. No speeches! These are all turned in online, and most of the time, you won't have class on the day they're due. She is a really nice professor. Class is lectures with slideshows and writing on the white board, and some activities are interactive.

Comment:

I took this class online. To me, this was a class of very little importance and I just needed to take it for the credit. It's always the teachers that teach the useless classes that take it way too seriously. Ridiculously slow grader, unclear instructions, and not particularly helpful with assignments. Would not take again.

She's a great person and really wants us to succeed. Her lectures are kind of boring which is ironic since that's what she's teaching us. The speeches are easy but the tests and quizzes are a little harder but it's online and you can use the book so it's not that hard.

Comment:

Loved her as a person and a professor! Super personable and really helpful if you go to her office hours. She had clear rubrics for every speech so you knew exactly what you had to do in order to do well. She graded fairly, we usually got out of class early, and she worked to make it as interesting as she could.

She was completely unclear in my Small Group Communications 215 online course! Her assignments were confusing, she did not prepare us for the tests. They were random and she never has a clear assignment schedule. You have to buy 2 books for this class and I have used them twice for only two assignments. and she took forever to email you back!

Shes very straightforward and clear. Speeches are not too long (max 5 minutes). Group speech over assigned topic during midterm. Final speech is the only impromptu one. Has to be 2 minutes. Very easy class and she is a great teacher.

This was supposed to be a fun class and I was looking forward to learning much about speech but the style of her teaching is terrible, you take a quiz first then she goes over it again and she gives you quiz's that are not able to be completed in the time needed, and she doesn't seem to give much feedback. Do not take this professor.

Mrs. Spradley is very particular on what she wants to see in writing assignments and speeches. If you follow her instructions exactly and give a lot of detail, you'll do great! She loves people who go above and beyond. Be sure to go to her office hours if you ever have questions because she is great 1-on-1.

Took this course online but still did very well. She is clear in her instructions and what is required for each assignment. Has flexible office hours, I was able to see her last minute for help on a paper once. Everything online, able to use book on quizzestests.

She's great. Lots of homework/ textbook reading. Tests are online so you can look at your notes. She lets you go early if you have a long class (ex one class per week). Usually an hour to an hour and a half early.

She's easy to understand. Will let you go super early if you have one class a week. You will have to write essays. They're not bad though since they can all be first person. Slow at posting grades, but I loved her. She teaches in a great manner and the tests are online. So take really good notes from the book.

She is awesome. It was a May-mester class, so 3 hours a day is never fun, but she makes it bearable. Very easy to listen to and VERY easy on the eyes! Take her if you can. Sure you have to go to class and do the work, but every class is that way. Just do the work. Its not hard,

Don't take her. She is really sweet but she talks as if you have heard all of the information before. Very annoying. Her test are online and once you answer it you can't change your answer. I only passed one test. Other assignments and the project saved my butt. Take Kimberly Squyres if you can. Way better.

I did not have her for lab but for lecture class. She is really anal about everything, you even get assigned seats. As far as lectures her voice is obnoxious, and hard to listen too. I personally did not like it very much but I also had no interest in the class so that could the issue. As far as grading she is pretty strict.

I really dislike public speaking, so i wasnt too happy about taking this class. but the speeches are fine, just dont wait till the last min, do what she says and everything should be fine. Lectures are just really boring and repetitive.
