Comment:

I really enjoyed having her as a professor. She is extremely intelligent and her lectures were interesting. She wasn't the hardest marker for essay assignments. A little bit of group work and tests, which are point form. She doesn't have lecture notes so attending class is in the best interest, but not totally mandatory.

LaRocque is extremely intelligent. If you put in the effort and come to class every day, you will get a good mark. Lectures are a little bit long, but there is a lot to learn! Plan on taking a class with her next semester

As a grad student I asked her if she'd be willing to quickly review a book review I'd been asked to submit to a journal. From behind her desk she peered up over those glasses and without cracking a smile simply said "No!" Then she turned away to file her papers and that was it. Fine fine specimen here.

I learned a LOT in the class- she is very knowledgeable. She takes mental attendance, so come to class, sit in the same spot, and take good notes. Found tests easy b/c she gives out a study sheet but answers must be in point form (be very clear and concise). Gives advantage to students that try- doesn't like students who don't come to class.

This professor has spent her academic career proving a new history that comes from a non-colonial point of view. (which challenges old belief systems) I recommend her classes highly!

Horribly unorganized and ill-informed, Ms Laroque has no business being the school custodian let alone a university professor. Her ignorant and condescending attitude towards students only takes attention away from her inability to teach (or do anything right for that matter). Only take her course if you want to know how NOT to teach.
