He lectures, you listen. There was rarely any discussion in class. Philosophy is about asking questions, getting and giving feedback... I guess I just learn differently than he teaches. Lectures don't always match the tests so definitely do the reading :(

So here's the thing about Dalton, He gives you the answers in class for the final. "okay here are answer 3 and 4 write them down" and then he just goes on a BFE tangent about abortion and headless babies. very odd class. I caught more zz's in that class than my dorm, and still passed. Not a good teacher, but easy class.

Dr. Dalton is a hard professor to rate. At some points throughout the semester I hated him. At other times I would sit through the hour and forty-five minute class and not notice the time pass. Overall, Dr. Dalton is a good professor although at times synthesizing what he is trying to say can be very, very difficult.

Don't listen to these other ratings. He is a great professor! His lectures were very interesting even though he didn't always stay on topic. He gives you every question that will be on the tests the first day of class so putting any effort into this class will ensure a definite A.

His lectures are absolutely horrendous. Don't expect discussion or any source of input from anyone in the class except him. He does not appreciate or respect what a student would like to say. He gives you a study guide that contains test questions word for word, but in order to pass his exams you have to answer them with what he wants to hear.

Very easy class. There is no homework and if you study an hour or so before each of the 3 test, you'll get an A.

FAVORITE TEACHER ON CAMPUS! I loved going to this class! He makes the material VERY interesting and gives you every question for the tests the very first day of class, so if you put any effort at all into this class then you'll get an A for sure.

This class was interesting the first half but after that it feels like you're dying to get out. The things he teaches are actually really interesting. I attended every class and practiced for all the tests but if he doesn't understand the way you worded it the first time he reads it, he will just not give you credit for it.

You don't have to try hard to get an A in this class. Yes he rambles, but it usually does somehow connect back to the topic. If you don't like Philosophy and want an easy A, I would recommend taking him. No surprises on the tests, if you don't get an A then that's on you because he makes it extremely easy.

I went to every class, did every homework assignment, took notes in class, and studied in groups and still could not get an A in this class. He is annoying to listen to and useless when it comes to helping students. He never emailed me back when i had questions and he didn't take anything seriously. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

I've read a lot of comments about the guy, and yeah the material can be a little dry. It's a lower level class with no room for discussion only lecture. That being said, I thought he was alright. He spoon feeds you ALL essay test answers. I don't know how anyone wouldn't get an A, unless they just didn't show up. Take it if you are an essay writer

This class was SO boring. It is very hard to pay attention in class. And his tests are all essay, so it is very hard to get an A. Avoid at all costs.

I liked his class. The tests are hard but only because you have to write so much. no surprises, you know what will be on it at the beg. of the semester. Take notes during class and you wont even have to read the book. he goes through the test questions in order.

It. Was. Terrible. Very boring lectures and didn't care about any of the students opinions. Grades unnecessarily difficult. On papers and essays, the only way to pass is to write what you know he wants to hear. Do that and you might pass. Avoid him at all costs.

Don't take him if you don't want to know how he feels about everything from supreme court decisions to the "problems" in the matrix movies. The test are all essay but are pretty easy he will give you some credit as long as your talking about something related to the class I never read and still got an A

ZZZZZZZZ.... Never having skipped classes on purpose, I found it more productive if I skipped the class and just read the text. Most students fall asleep shortly after class starts. The entire lecture is a rant, he laughs at his own (not funny) jokes, very opinionated. He said everyday I went he was surprised people went to his class...

He babbles on about nothing that has to do with the subject he is instructing over. I skipped out on his class quite a few times because attendance is not mandatory, because i just couldnt stand listening to him talk. Im just glad i passed the class, and got out of there.

He is just ridiculous. I am an honors student and I can't stay awake during this class. He talks in circles and babbles on and on bout things that are not close to on topic. I DO NOT recommend him as a professor!

I agree with the last comment. The hardest part about this class is actually going. Attendance is not mandatory and I only went about half the semester and still got an A. You will need the book if you want to study for the tests (which I recommend you do) and he gives you the essay questions to the test at the beg of the semester. Extremely BORING

This guy seems to be lost in his own mind, that knows nothing about teaching ethics. He jumps from subject to subject and rambles. He doesn't use blackboard. Avoid at all cost for a better looking future.
