Comment:

Lectures are boring and confusing. His lectures are straight out of his typed lecture notes except he makes mistakes when presenting in-person so why even bother going to class? Assessments are fair. Hardest part about this course is staying motivated to do anything. Super easy to fall behind because it's so dry but obviously he doesn't care.

His lectures are boring. His tests are easy if you study. On tests you get to choose a certain number of questions to answer from a bigger number provided. I remember him having lots of assignments though that were long but again lots of these questions get repeated on the tests.

Not really clear. Very confusing, seems to overcomplicate everything. Assessments are fair but marking scheme is ambiguous and left up to discretion of the marking TA. If the TA is being nitpicky, he will not challenge the mark that the TA gives you. For the money he makes i don't know why he smells so bad.

Lin Alg; this course is very tough; Dr. Sawyer did his best to teach this course in baby steps. If you fall behind, you're screwed since there's so much content you'll never catch up. Assignments hard, but exam/tests were very similar to assignments/HW quests. so make sure you're always working hard. Probably one of the hardest 2nd year math course

Lectures are not helpful in any way. His lecture notes are very long and confusing. Likes to wave his hands instead of explaining things. His only redeeming quality is how easy tests and quizzes have been.

Great prof! Explains things clearly and in different ways, gives very good advice on how to study. Tests are fair; if you study in the style he reccomends, you will do well. Incredibly patient and helpful in office hours; half the time he says one sentence and you figure things out on your own. Great guy. Used a free textbook!

I had Eric Sawyer for Real Analysis few years back. He was an extremely easy professor. He asks almost no proof questions on tests and they are extremely straight-forward. Just do you're work, even if you study very minimum for his course, you're pretty much guaranteed a B in the class. Super easy professor. Wish every math prof was as fair as him

Inappropriate use of textbook, too advanced at this level. I don't know where people get these ideas that he likes to act as though he is better than you. Dude is very helpful and wants students to succeed. He was a good prof. (Although Alama would have been better.)

He's arrogant & picks out students he wants to like and thinks everybody else dumb. I'm much smarter than he was at my age but he looks at me feeling superior. I will prove him wrong one day. teachings are actually good but I don't like the judgement he makes about people always thinking negatively of some students & positively of his little pets

He's just alright.. not impressive but not horrible either. I don't like his habit of not answering e-mails. I also feel that he doesn't like being asked questions and if you do ask him questions, he will judge you to be dumb. I guess he misunderstands the fact that he's had his PhD for some decades and we are just undergrads.

Dr.Sawyer basically has no teaching skills. I'm serious the guy talks to himself all period and writes so much. He will fill one blackboard BEFORE class starts. So you walk in have to copy 1 board and while you do that he's filling another one. Not only that but he concentrates on irrelevant material.

The wittiest prof yet. He is a very visual teacher and quite clear. For some reason he reminds me of Kelsey Grammar. I like his winter boots. He keeps a good pace too.
