Fun class with a lot of interesting conversation based lectures. My one critique of Esckilsen is that he does not give a lot of feedback on essays. Overall a good professor and a great class.

Esckilsen is a very laid back professor. Essays were open ended enough to not be miserable to write. Classes were calm, and required homework was little more than reading assignments. Esckilsen is absolutely one of my favorite professors I've had at Champlain.

Erik's classes are always fun, and he gets students talking. There's work due almost every class, but it's never a lot, and an easy grade if done reasonably. His expectations are very reasonable, he values effort, and is always understanding of any issues (missing class or late work). His experience shows in a very good way.

He is a great teacher and incorporates a lot of movies/clips into his lessons as well as discussions. His classes are interesting and informative and I liked going to them. Be warned though, he is a very hard grader and isn't always clear about why he gives the grades he does. The essays are very open ended and it is hard to know what he wants.

He's a great teacher. He has a really good style of teaching that makes the class fun while still getting all of the material across. You will have to do the readings, but he makes sure that you complete understand it in class. Overall a really good teacher who truly wants you to do well as a student and will help any way he can.
