Excellent when I had him as a young lecturer 46 years ago. Turned me round from an F in Calculus to an A-. Very helpful, clear, friendly. Hard to imagine him becoming a bitter old man!

Easily the best math teacher I have ever had. I do NOT like math at all, but I found Cockayne to be a very good teacher and I did well in the course because of it.
