Turner is a decent guy, but going to his classes are pointless. Lectures are brutal and you won't learn much. The "OWLs" make up a big part of the grade and are a joke. The tests consistently had some MC questions on things he never mentioned.

Comment:

Counts 3 out of 4 exams, and has an optional final. OWLs count for 40% of your grade. Turner is a nice guy, but a horrible professor. He rambles on about useless information, and the only reason I did as well as I did was because of the SI sessions. Easy A if you skip class and go to SI...probably not the best way to run a class. Don't recommend!

Don't expect to learn anything if you take this class. Go to the SI sessions. They are much more useful than the lectures unless and you'll be fine. I thought it was an easy A especially since OWLs counted for 40% of the grade and he took the best 3 of 4 exam grades.

I have a feeling he didn't try with my class this semester at all, for the record he didn't show up the first day at all. Didn't stay on topic at all during his unorganized lectures, refused to post the syllabus or explain how the grading system worked for MONTHS, basically everyone in the class has had to teach themselves the material.

HS chem: class & text= not needed, go over slides on spark. New to chem: class, text,& spark is useful. 3-4 exams, drops the lowest. 1 paper. no prs. Old, but easy. 1 text, no hw except owls.

3 words: Needs to retire. This guy is useless...friendly, but useless. Friendly doesn't get you an A. Random sporadic exams. He takes the best out of 4. One easy essay. The final is optional. The key with this course is to read the book!!! Tune him out. He posts last years exams up for reference. Use those and the book to study and you'll make out.

Easy class if you go once in a while. When 85% of the class never comes no wonder why some people get bad grades. He posts what is on the tests on SPARK, there is 20 OWLs, 4 tests (lowest gets dropped) and an optional final. Take it if you plan on going at least once a week. You will do well if you go and flip through the book before the test.

completely useless professor.. has no idea how to stay on topic. Hard tests although he drops 1 test grade. Everyone claiming he is the best professor is probably one of the many snot nose nerds in class who leave rude comments to people on the online discussion board. Stay away from this one unless you love chemistry. Bad Gen ED.

He is the man. Wicked simple. Hilarious. Don't need to go to class but want to because you are just interested in what he is going to do next. Will tell you what is going to be on the test which are easy. Can't think of a better professor to have.

Hilarious goofy old man. This is a mickey mouse class. No attendance required, tells you exactly what is going to be on the exam, and gives you exams from prior semesters. If you study from the book and owls the night before the exam you'll do fine. I only went to the first two classes and got a 97.5% on the first exam

He is so nice and funny. He drops the lowest exam with a optional final. Owls are easy and there is only 7-10 of them. The essay doesn't take much. He grades rather easy. Just go to most of the classes,read the things he puts on Spark, go over the vocab in the text and you'll be fine.
