Very understanding if you'll be missing class. Very easy grader & easy to pass. Do the readings, assignments, participate, & you'll be fine. Definitely, participate. If no one does, it will be really boring. Beginning of semester, he lets the class decide between a 15 min break during class or being let out 15 mins early every class.

Father Blumenfeld was a great teacher. Lectures were dry and mostly background info on the reading. Although boring, it was a really easy class and he gave take home quizes. Easy grader. Definitley take him for Christianity and Culture!!

He is a great guy. Very simple style of teaching, requiring you to do a lot of reading. He is a good conversationalist and does a great job of controlling debates- he welcomes healthy conflict. You will basically learn the amount you read, he is a good professor.

Comment:

Rick is the best professor I've had between both Sierra and Sac State. All exams are take home, but they do require a good amount of time and attention. Homework collection and quizzes are random. Overall you'll learn a lot from the class and from Rick, and he's always there to answer any questions you have. Definitely take this class with Rick.

Father Blumenfeld is a great professor. I look forward to his class. I am not bored in class. He is funny and very knowledgeable. There's a class presentation at the end. You can find the readings online you don't absolutely need the book. It's part of your grade to bring it to class though.

Don't buy the text it's a waste of money. The group project is a pain and he makes you choose your own group. However, he is crystal clear and if you study and do your work you will succeed. The quizzes are easy and the 2 exams are very fair. Don't miss many classes - I missed 3 and got an A. Bring your laptop - doing the notes by hand is a killer.

This guy is really nice, he takes attendence so go to class, however i missed 5 classes over the semester and he didnt dock me any points. You need a laptop, and dont really NEED to take notes every class. Just show up the class before quiz or exam and take notes then. easy A, i got A- and didnt do much. Also DONT buy the book you will not use it

Great Guy. Very Nice. He goes over a lot of stuff and the class is boring. He simply puts the bullets on the board and then sits and tells you about it. Class before test he goes over what you need to know. Really nice guy and if you take him, you'll be happy.

YOU have to show up for class and take notes as to EVERYTHING he says. There are 4 quizes, but he will tell you whats on it...same with the midterm and final...he gives a GREAT review. You can make a cheat sheet with all the answers...I saw half the class do it. Sad...but true...that's my advice to future students. Presentation is graded unfair.
