Comment:
Famoye is the definition of a professor that is dedicated towards his job. He will even take time out of his schedule to set up study sessions before exams with the class. However, his lectures are BORING! There were days where I would show app for the attendance grade, nap in class, wake up, and nap again. His class is easy but very boring too.

Very very systematic down to earth professor. Right from the word go, when he illustrated that all it takes to bridge accent problem is "Please slow down", I'm in great respect of Dr Famoye. Teaches subject from the very basics possible. Very good PPT's from him to understand the subject clearly. Hear to his class and you would get A. Awesome Prof!

Professor Famoye is a great guy. You can tell he really cares about the subject he is teaching. He gives all the homework for the whole semester on the first day and has many reminders for quizzes and exams.

The group project is awful, be sure to be the group leader and meet with everyone before the day it is due. Dr. Famoye is very nice and knowledgeable. He can speak quickly at times and his accent is sometimes difficult to interpret but overall the best Stats prof.

Professor Famoye can be a little nitpicky on things and the 10 page group paper was a pain, but overall the class is pretty easy and you learn a decent amount. Maybe it was just easy because I had it in high school. He does want to hep you and is enthusiastic about Stats.

Famoye is the man. His class is worth of being of a 300 level but he teaches the material quite well. Extremely positive and professional he is a great professor to meet with outside of class. Statistics problems are vaguely worded so make sure you learn how to speak the language of Stats. Overall B+ course rating. You will survive this course.

This professor is fantastic. He loves what he teaches and this really helped to make class interesting. It wasn't an "easy" class, but he taught it well and provided a lot of different methods for me to learn. He didn't use the text book too much, but he provided notes for every chapter. He accent didn't affect my understanding at all.

Intense professor. He wants you to learn the material but sometimes it is near impossible with his accent and expectation. Make sure you know how to integrate double/triple integrals off from the top of your head because he will expect that. Overall pretty good teacher though...pushes you to the limit!

Although I didnt do good in his class, Ill give him credit by saying he was a good prof. The only thing thats hard about his class is actually going. When you do go(Which u should everytime for this class honestly) his notes help out ALOT on Exams/homework/projects. Minitab projects suck, but you'll get used to it, and you'll get used to his accent

Severe language barrier. Projects and homework only follow a little of what you go over in class. Quizzes are moderately easy, however. Exams are so so but he is not an easy grader on them, however. Tricky subject matter, made worse again, by a severe language barrier. Look for somebody else!

Ignore what the last person said. Felix makes this class very easy. I think if someone else taught the class, it may be impossible. Felix goes over EVERYTHING until you really understand. As far as the accent goes, you get used to it. Another perk is that he is hilarious. He makes funny jokes. Felix is an asset to the Math Department! Take him!

First off, this is not an easy class, as he claims. His accent is very thick and he is very hard to understand. He gives out study guides, but omits details. He has an attitude about things, and really can't teach. His examples are horrid and when you only have 300 pts in class, there is no room for error. Nice guy, but take it with someone else!

I've had Felix for a 3rd semester (STA 382, 584, 585, and 588 next semester). I love him. I wish every prof taught the way he did. He is so clear in the way he teaches. Notes are on blackboard, assignments can be hard (especially in the 500 level stats classes), tests are just like examples worked out in class and he is very helpful. TAKE HIM!!

This prof. does not clarify what he is talking about and even if he did, his accent is so strong you couldn't understand him. He isn't helpful and has an attitude when questions are asked. I'd suggest another teacher for STA 282.

Easy class if you have even a little bit of mathematical knowledge. Go to class: not just because he takes attendance, but you can get behind easily. At times, his accent can be hard to understand, but he writes the most important things on the board. Highly recommended.
