By far the best professor Ive ever had, in all of the classes I've taken at Dal my highest grades are always by far in his class. Lots of papers but gives you lots of chances to do well, a fair marker and definitely takes your opinion into consideration. very passionate about the subject and cares a lot about his students.

Comment:

Super easy class, all you need to do is stay on top of writing papers. You have 3 per semester and if you don't get a good grade he'll help you fix the paper and get grade up! 10/10 recommend taking this class for writing credit.

Mr. Bail is super friendly and loves politics clearly. It just sucks that he doesn't use technology. Everything is said in class and there is so much to write down that you'll need to sort your notes afterwards. Other than that, he really does care wants his students to pass!

Amazing professor! Very involved and constantly learning about politics. Genuinely wants to hear your perspective and thoughts in class discussions. Provides flexible due dates and so much feedback. Really cares about his students and is engaged with the material. Would always recommend as an elective prof or to a poli sci student.

I thought Dr. Bail was a great teacher. He is clearly passionate about politics which is great for those who share his love of politics. Most students were taking the class as an elective & were not impressed with his unorganized lectures & lack of online material. Easy fix: go to class & organize what he says on your own, you'll understand better.

Poli1103 - Extremely interested in the subject. Anyone who doesn't know anything about Political Science should not hesitate to take this course. 8 essays for the year, but topics are do-able. Genuinely concerned about students, and will gladly help you whenever. Overall a great prof and man, definitely sweet like a grandpa !

Good prof, and seems genuinely excited to teach and interested in students' opinions. Helpful, generous marker, minimal workload. Does get rather philosophical and a little over my head at times. Lectures seem very unstructured, which is good and bad... will take an hour to answer a simple question. Went over time often too-- in a 3 hour class!

Professor Bail is probably the most interesting political science professor I've ever met or been student to. His approach is qualitative, and focus is taken away from the "product" of academia and toward the process. Understanding connections between society and politics is where he shines. If you have a critical brain, you will love this man.

A brilliant man...was totally inspired to learn. The guy has an incredible wealth of knowledge that he somehow manages to fit all in to a short time slot. One of the best profs (intellectually speaking) that I've had in my four years as an undergrad!
