A very approachable and likable man. Attendance is not mandatory but a lot of the questions on his exams come from class notes and discussions, which are not very clear. There is also a lot of reading but I would take a class with him again if I had the chance.

Dr. Bremer is the editor of a major History publication and the chair of the History department, so he knows what he's doing when it comes to reading and critiquing papers. If you're not interested in learning History and putting a lot of effort into it, don't take him. But if you are interested in it, he's great. Extremely helpful.

I really enjoyed the majority of this class. Dr. Bremer knows a great deal about history, and there is no question as to why he is the Chair of the department. My only qualm is that he returned back my term paper without a grade, and made me add unnecessary annotations. Teaching students to over cite does not truly teach them to be better at citing

Definitely do not take him for an evening class. I give him a ton of credit though, no one, absolutely no one can make craft of history exciting for 3 hours. Overall, a great professor who tried his best. Definitely taking another class with him...

Very good prof. Very insightful and interested in what he teaches. Going to class is crucial to doing well on tests. Don't bother buying all the books for this class; I only read half of his own book, took good notes in class, and got an A.

The man is a genius, so don't even try to get any BS past him, he knows better than that. May be dry, but thats history for ya. Make sure you go to lecture and take thorough notes, you'll be ok.
