Such a wonderful man. I was so happy I was able to take this class with him. Statistics can be a nightmare if you have the wrong professor, but you won't feel that way if you take his class. He moves a bit fast through the material, but he grades you on your final and midterm grades, and prepares you big time for those tests. He's a gem for sure.

Professor Hall has a generous personality that stands out humorously. Love his jokes and frequent stories; he definitely knows how to get his students' attention considering the dullness of the subject matter itself. The exams (midterm and final) are open book, however, some students still manage to fail them b/c they took terrible notes or none.

Homework is essential to passing this course. You get class notes, but in my opinion going over the homework is where I truly understood the subject. Do not miss class! Professor Hall is a sweet, calm man and always there to help. Gives extra points to students that actively participate.

He is a nice guy! He always smiles a lot and gives us positive attitude. He doesn't use textbook, but if you register the online code for practice you will receive extra points for both midterm and final exam (although he doesn't use online code as well). Homework is regarded as attendance and the tie breaker for exams. Don't miss class, easy A!

He is a very nice guy but your grade is 50% midterm 50% final... both are open notes and open book. The book is useless and his notes are difficult to understand. He explained things too fast for me. Stats isn't easy... don't take him unless you have a good grip on math.

I received a B in this course. Prof Hall is extremely knowledgeable in the field of stats. He wants you to learn and gives you the tools you need, but I felt like he assumed a base knowledge as it pertained to stats. I felt lost a lot of the time! Didn't use the book. Purchase of Math Lab gives you +5% to MT and Final. (Worth it!)

He has taught STAT +30yrs. Very knowledgeable, helpful and nice teacher. His PP and HW covers all exam questions. No need to buy book.(or get used one through Amazon at $20)He offers so many ways to get an extra point. If you attend the class (not mandatory) and focus on PP & HW, easy A!

So Prof. Hall is a very good person. Always ready to help student. (but sometimes i dont understand him). If u get A in final thats ur final grade. No attendance or hw necessary. 3rd times a charm for me! This guy is a God-send! He allows open notes! DO NOT BUY A FRIGGIN' BOOK!!! It's a scam! He gladly puts everything you'll need on blackboard. If you're a math moron, like me, definitely use Wade, his tutor and buddy...w/out Wade I'd be forgetting about school, 'cause this Sadistics crap is so unnecessary!!! Good Luck!

As promised in a previous rating, my followup from this class semesters ago. Prof H is awesome. He is serious minded, intelligent and eager for students to learn. He encourages group study diversity. He brings real life situations to the classroom with realistic solutions. If you study, there is no reason to be unsuccessful in this course.

Don't hesitate asking him guestions,he will answer all of them.He puts the homework on blackbord, then go over it in class, and only after that he will collect the homework and grade it.If you get F on Midterm and A on Finals,he will give you A. The teacher gives his own notes out for the whole semester. He does not use the book for anything but the tables and goes really fast. I had to do a lot of studying on my own in order to get a good grade. He is nice and funny lets the class out early. Very helpful if you ask him for help. Has only two exams Mid-term and a comprehensive final.

I had him for both STAT 241 & 242 over the summer. Going to class is a must! If not, you'll miss out on all the notes. Even though the exams are open-notes, open-book, don't think that it's a breeze through. You still need to understand the material to an extent. Do the HW to better understand the concepts. This is one of the best teachers in NOVA his method of teaching and providing information are great one of the best. I got a C in his midterm and on the final an A got and A for the course in the summer and last class taken at NOVA great way to finish NOVA with an A in STATS 242 who would have thought.
