Dr. Nichols was a great professor and his occasional jokes make class interesting. You don't need a theological background to do well. I ended with a 96% which is a "low A" in SLU theology . An A is certainly not the most common grade but it is attainable. You must attend every class, do the daily reading response and USE HIS STUDY GUIDE FOR TESTS!

There are daily essays due and his tests are kind of tricky, don't be confused by everyone else's easiness rating. I did and ended up getting a B-

He is a good teacher, but expects a lot. There are assignments every day, 4 tests, and one 8-12 page research paper. It was a good class, but it requires a lot of work.

He's a cool older guy who knows his stuff when it comes to New Testament and examining the text. Can be kinda boring at times, considering there's a mandatory attendance. But if you have a good enough excuse he'll let you off. Great Teacher! worth taking....

I do not study, and sometimes do the readings. He's a funny professor, mostly crude humor.. but he makes us laugh at least once a class... There is a big church project for an easy grade! The exams are tough, but he ALWAYS gives a study guide with almost identical questions on the test! So as long as you get the guide, it's an easy A!

I had him for Honors New Testament and it was harder than Organic Chemistry. Exams, particularly the midterm, were near impossible. I am a good student and had a 4.0 until this class

Dr. Nichols is precious. He is the nicest teacher I have met. He does make fun of you if you disagree with him though. One page discussion question due everytime you go to class, but their easy. He reviews the midterm and final with you the day before and it's straight forward.

I took an honors version of his intro to Theology course, and it was actually semi-interesting. Dr. Nichols has an extremely biased view, however, and if you disagree with him at all, he might make fun of you a bit. Do the homework and you will do well in the class.

This was a 100 level class but honors. It was the first time he taught it and was ok. One page reflections everyday get really old. No tests, but 3 research papers. I felt like he was hard to please and was unwilling to give out A's. A lot of A-'s though. No continuity to grading.

A very interesting class. A lot of reading is required but you learn a lot. The final paper took a long time to write but he was very helpful in finding sources. There are 3 tests, a 10 page paper, daily 1 page reflections, and no final. I definitely recommend this class.

Very easy class. the discussion questions were hard if you aren't Christian to start with but other than that the tests come straight from the study questions.

Dr. Nichols was quite easy. Quizes and one page essays are due each class but are VERY EASY and give easy points as well. 2 tests and a final, not hard at all... sometimes boring but would suggest taking him.

The 4-5 tests were easy. There was a final research project that was time-consuming, but not difficult, and several short (one page) response essays. The lectures were a little dull, but overall the class was an easy way to earn 3 of your 9 required Theology credits.

I think Dr. Nichols put himself to sleep sometimes. Required attendance, but pretty much gives you test questions ahead of time. Big project takes a loooong time. Attendance required, and soooo boreing.

I loved Dr. Nichols - he is very easy if you do the work he requires. It is no problem getting an A, the class probably requires about two hours of work a week. Just make sure you start the book report early!

Boring Teacher, uninteresting class. Classes were pointless. Required attendance, not to mention the test although he gives you the questions requires a lot of prep time. test are over 120 questions long.
