I felt with this class, because it was online it didn't really make a difference to me who was the teacher. Francois didn't do much for giving notes you basically just have to read the whole textbook and thats where you learn the content. I felt like i could have done this class without a teacher. Easy marker but there is a lot of content to learn.

I think Francois is a great prof! He is hilarious in class and really tries to get the main points across. You have to keep up with lectures in class as he does not post the notes but they are easy to follow along. He gives great examples and involves the class in meaningful discussions. His exams are fair if you study lectures and readings!

Great prof, made me laugh all the time. Easy grader. Attend class as he doesn't post notes online and read the material assigned as he tests are based 50/50 on each. Material is interesting but he made it even better. Can maybe be a bit condescending to students, but they usually deserve it and again I found it hilarious.

Larose will make you do some work for your grade but not more than other classes. Tests are all multiple choice, the only other assignments are two short responses (a total of about 800 words) online, on a video. I spent about 90 minutes on each for full marks. He doesn't post notes but his lectures are funny and I didn't mind having to go.

Larose provides a very in-depth study guide for his exams that are very helpful. He is passionate about the lecture material and approaches it in a very unbiased way. He doesn't give clear instructions on the group project, but overall is a very good professor.

Larose offers clear guidelines for what's on his tests! He does not give you lecture notes, and you will have to do some readings from the textbooks, but he gives you a list of questions for the readings. This is all you need to know for the exams from the textbook! and he will take questions directly from this list! Easy grade if you read!

I found Dr. Larose to be an excellent instructor. As long as you attend class, ask questions to clarify, read through your text book, and don't save studying to the last minute, you have nothing to worry about. He provides funny, well spoken and informative lectures. I would take his lectures again.

Took his class in spring and I would not recommend taking this prof again. He posts study questions and tells you what to read from the text but it's as if none of those are on the final exam. Marks extremely hard on the short answers and is not helpful when you ask him for questions.

Took his class as an elective and it was super hard and I do not recommend taking this class as an elective.( not an easy A) His exam questions are hard and you must support your answers and it must be exactly right to get marks. Must do readings and go to class . Exams were half lecture, half readings and you can not study the night before.

Does not post notes on blackboard - talks too quickly, cant even write or type to keep up. Pretty much responds to everything we ask or answer with, "ummm, no." "not really, no." "ahhh, sorta." Very unclear. Makes you read ALOT of dry content, and tests on it. Very unclear about whats on tests. Don't recommend this prof.

Francois was great! Very passionate about his subject, pretty funny, and very clear about what to study for. The discussions online were easy marks as well. I would recommend him, but you must go to class, as he doesn't post any notes on blackboard

Very funny, very kind! I found his lectures very amusing. He has notes which aren't posted so you must attend class. Also his exams are 50/50 for the lecture notes and the textbook content. The exams are tricky but overall fair. He understands his students and takes into consideration their lives outside of his class.

Larose is a good prof, very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. However, his notes are difficult to follow, and often there was conflicting info in the text vs. his notes. Lecture is mandatory, readings are mandatory, midterm/final is dependant on readings. If you take thorough notes and cross-ref with the text, you are GOLDEN!

He obviously cares a lot about Anthropology, and it shows in his lectures. The textbook is mandatory and used throughout the course. His lectures are dull but chocked full on information. He does make jokes now and then, especially about cats. If you show up and do your readings it is an easy A.

Francois is hilarious and such an old school teacher. Some of the content is super boring but his random jokes make up for it. Online quizzes are tougher than in-class exams, but just go to class and be prepared to take notes since nothing is posted online. If something is important or not he will usually tell you, honestly just pay attention.

Overall good prof. Attending class is essential as he does not post his powerpoints online. You also need to read the textbook. But he is funny, and passionate. He gives reasonable marks. I was engaged during his lectures and his tests were easy.

Larose was wonderful. He was very clear and knew the material by heart. I thought he explained things so well and was helpful. I went to him regarding a mid-term mark, and he was nice and gave good feedback. If you want to do well in this class, instead of blaming him, YOU have to do the readings and study and try to understand the material.

He doesn't post his power points online, so it is a must to be in class since a good portion of tests are from lectures and what he puts into his power points. The readings are dull, but he makes them more interesting when he explains the key concepts in class. Keep up with your readings and attend class and review and you should be totally fine.

Tougher class in the sense that there is a lot of reading material and lecture notes but his lectures definitely held my interest. He is very sarcastic and kind of degrading to his students, but I found it rather hilarious.
