This class was the epitome of poorly run. Less than half of the assignments in the class were handed back on the last day with failing marks because he had failed to mention that we were supposed to attach the outputs to them. Professor routinely shows up late for class and goes past class time with his lectures. Avoid this professor at all costs.

Useless professor. Handed back >HALF< of the assignments on the last day and found out we had failing marks on our assignments even though the programs were perfectly correct. Apparently showing output is worth half the assignment. Attendance required since he just briefly tells you assignments you need to do without any outline of what to do.

i have had this guy 4 times now, and each time i wonder whether i am going to pass the class or not. my average gets tanked every year thanks to him. i have seen a total of 4 assignments returned and 0 midterms.

Prof does not seem to prepare for class. He is routinely late showing up for lectures, has entirely forgotten about midterms and rescheduled them and often isn't ready to present the material he is going to be teaching. Poor overall performance. Easier to learn from the textbook. Also, prof is often not available during his posted office hours.

Awful Professor, never hands back assignments. 90% of the class found out they had a failing grade right before the exam (Nice to know now, Thanks Allaire...) Pickiest teacher imaginable, midterms were made the day of the test and he was late for class. To Sum things up, forget about any scholarships and awards the second you set foot in his class.

The first half is well taught. The last half is off and on. His marking scheme is firm but fair. It is absolutely imperative to PRECISELY read instructions when doing this class to ensure that you're answering the questions that you are being asked. It's not uncommon for the majority of the class to fail assignments, often due to stupid errors.

A friendly and brilliant professor, but he relies too much on the textbook and he doesn't seem very enthusiastic about the material covered in Operating Systems (and considering how boring the book is, I can't say I blame him). He seems a lot more interested in other topics. His best lectures are the ones where he doesn't use the course textbook.

He knows the material well. Random at times, but easy to follow if you read the book before going to class. Knows how to mix the right amount of humour with his lectures, and if you don't like his teaching style, blame God. He may not give assignments back, but he'll let you hand them in late.
