You have to be okay with his teaching style. He is not an extremely systematical teacher, but it's not a bad thing. Make sure to read the handouts, they always come up on tests. He gives you the test questions and answers ahead of time. He's a great guy and he's extremely smart. If you actually show up, you'll learn something.

Dr. Mayr is brilliant. He does not make you systematically learn and is full of insight about the subject of philosophy of religion. If you read every hand-out he gives you and pay attention in class, you will do well on his tests and class.

Awful, awful, awful. Refuses to use email, rude to students, and always late to class. He seems like he would be tolerable as a really old grandpa, but not as a prof. Avoid his class at all costs. He doesn't bother to get to know students, and attendance is a joke. He just rambles on about unrelated topics the entire time.

This professor is horrible! I've never had someone so terrible. Most of the time he doesn't talk about the subject, and when he does he is unclear and doesn't make any sense. Taking notes is useles because when you look back at what you wrote it doesn't make any sense. This class was the biggest waste of my time I have had in college.

I love this man. I'd like for him to be my 3rd grandpa. He's brilliant and funny. He made a very borrrring subject completely tolerable.

This class was HORRIBLE. Franz would be very interesting to sit down to coffee with, but as a professor he is hard to follow as well as difficult to hear and understand. He often goes off on tangents that mean absolutely nothing (although sometimes they are comical). He does not provide meaningful feedback and is poor at organizing the class in general. I say all of this even though I got an A in the course. I still feel it was a waste or my time.

Ugh, I hated him, he was awful, I got a B- and I did everything I was supposed to I even did my presentation which most of our class didn't even bother to do. I never found out my grades for my quiz, my paper, my presentation or my final which was 50% of my grade sheesh!

Dr. Mayr is an unsurpassable genius. He is my absolute FAVORITE professor up here. He has the greatest encyclopedic knowledge and integrity, and yet I STILL DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD.

He's easy but difficult to understand. The only thing that are graded are the midterm and final. Since he gives out the questions ahead of time, you don't have to review about a tenth of the reading he assigns so you don't really need the books.
