Easy B but will require some study time for the A. Only teaches at KSU during the summer. Overall a good professor . Once we got him to write on the white board from left to right instead of jumping all around it was much easier to keep track of notes. Fun guy but can be a little scattered and unorganized. Just let him know and he'll fix himself.

Professor McCaleb was a dream. He has a Mississippi accent that makes me think of True Blood. He taught American History like it was story he was telling to children before nap time, but no one wanted to go to sleep. He made it interesting. Attendance helps your grade, but you end up wanting to go to class anyways because it's fun.

Test are essays and word definitions so its not a breeze, but you get extra points for attendance and if you go to class the tests are not that difficult. He tends to grade on effort instead of quality as well. Show up and get an A

He is a good teacher. I hardly make A's but I did what I was told to do and made an A. His tests are not hard if you actually study for them and go to class. If you pay attention and take notes you will be fine. The take home tests are long but not difficult. He gives extra points for attending class @ end of sem. Book is useful but not necessary.

Do not take a summer class with this man. I'm working on a take home exam with 4 essay questions which need to be 2 pages each (total of 8), and then studying 60 terms for definition and 4 more essay questions for inclass exam on same day as take home is handed in. This is absolutely insane and he is very inconsiderate. He's very scattered.

Go to class and take good notes, then study them like crazy for the test! 2 essay questions and 20 short answers. It sounds hard but its not. Just study the notes and you will do great! He is a little disorganized so when you hand in something always keep a back-up, you may need it. Take this clas it is a really good one.

Dr. McCaleb cares about the students he teaches, but is often unclear in the expectations for the class. These expectations can change from day to day. He demands perfection, but is often scattered, thus making it difficult for students to understand the requirements.

I LOVED Dr. McCaleb. Lectures were so interesting that I was actually disappointed when class was over or if we got out early, which we often did. His exams are all short answer (2-3 sentences) and essays. He is ALWAYS willing to help you with your writing. You WILL have to work. This is not a blow-off class. He grades fairly easy.

Often, the teacher is not organized and it causes problems for the students. He requires one thing and then changes it by the time the assignment is due.

Dr. McCaleb was by far my favorite professor ever and I have always hated history. Take this class you learn so much, sometimes you feel like you should appauld his lectures. He is that good. It is worth the work. If he taught any other classes I would take them and I am a science major!

His take home tests are VERY long but he grades them leniantly. Very captivating lecturer and involves the class in the discussion and knows everything about his subject and even the tabloid stuff from the 1800's.
