I loved this course with Fred White. He was an overly-fair marker, he went out his way to accomidate students with extensions, and he made a potentially dry course very interesting. He's pretty funny too, so that doesn't hurt! Great prof.

Fred is an excellent prof. 1)weekly quizzes are great but he tries to trick, 2)Homework is important 3)He makes people speak out in class, but that only builds confidence and prepares you for the oral exam. Also, laugh at his jokes, even if they arn't funny ;) LOL. Please take a course with him :) Myself, #1 and #2 really had a Great semester =)

Interesting prof who definitly knows his subject matter but his lectures can get a bit boring. Has high expectations of students and tends to mark hard. More then willing to help if he knows your putting in the work, will not let you slide by - you have to earn your grade, which is not really a bad thing, this is university afterall.

I took a literature course with him and although he is a very interesting and knowledge prof. He likes to put down his students. He is also not very helpful outside of the classroom. Better make sure not to miss a class otherwise he wil not help you with what you missed.

I took Russian 1000 with Fred when he first arrived at MUN, and then took 3005 with him. He is very kind and shows passion for his subject area. He expects quality effort, but isn't tough at grading. And..he is hot haha.

People who complain are people who didn't do their work. Welcome to university. You're lucky to get a prof as good as Fred. I haven't had another prof that is as helpful, friendly, and as passionate about his specialization as he is. The only requirement is that you do your work. You're learning a language, what do you expect. Overall AWESOME PROF!

I found him to be very unhelpful especially outside the classroom, i went to him for help and he suggested i talked to another student in the class, on other occassions i would go to his office during his office hours and he wasn't even there. Very arrogrant, make sure to do your work and have friends in the classes.

Great prof. Has interesting teaching methods though. If you are considering taking a course with him, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I've seen him dance in class waiting for someone to give him homework answers. :S But hey, it works!
