She is a great professor and very easy to follow. Very clear about exam criteria. But, she takes FOREVER to give back tests and can be very petty when trying to go talk in office hours to her.

Comment:

I LOVE professor Hoyt! She is hilarious and always makes her lectures fun. One day she decided she was going to teach from the balcony of Kincaid. She explains everything really well. You do have to study for the tests but they aren't overly difficult. I would take professor Hoyt anytime possible. She is accessible outside of class.

She is by far the sweetest professor at UK and a great teacher, especially for material that can be very confusing at times. Everyone should have the opportunity to take a class with her.

Gail is honestly the best. She made learning econ so easy and fun. Although the class was huge, she always made sure everyone was with her and always had ways for the entire class to engage. Go to class and you'll get an A easily.

She is very funny and has the students engaged in the material. She gives many resources for exams and really helped me feel prepared for the content. She does clicker reef every class for attendance. She is one of the best teachers I have had and I would take her class again.

Gail explains everything so well and makes ECO fun. she is an AMAZING professor and I recommend her class. Exams are similar to the practice exams she gives out so make sure to study those. homework due once a week and reading but other than that its just three exams. The material can be difficult at times but Gail is always ready to help.

By far my favorite prof at UK so far. I didn't know anything about economics before her class but got an A. Know the notes and you should be good for the exams. Offers some extra credit

I LOVED Gail. She made an easy subject fun to learn and there was never a class where she didn't make you laugh. She gives it her all and wants you to succeed. The tests can be difficult, but I wouldn't hesitate to take her again.

Dr. Hoyt was great - funny and interesting lectures. The material is sometimes difficult, but she explains it well and is available in office hours. You need to study and put in the work, but if you do that, you'll do well in the class. Offers extra credit opportunities. Cannot put into words how much I would recommend this class.

Hoyt is one of the most incredible professors, if not these best, I have ever had. She makes the material relatable to your daily life and actually cares about her students, which can be hard to do in a 400+ person lecture. I would 1000% recommend her class to anyone, regardless of if they love econ.

Dr. Hoyt is one of my favorite professors. She is really funny and makes lectures fun and entertaining. She is also a really good econ teacher and uses understandable examples to explain. She really likes engaging the audience and will learn lots of people's names. She is really accessible in office hours.

Hoyt is so sweet and funny, she makes econ a really enjoyable class. She cares about what she teaches but she doesn't take everything too seriously to the point where you're just cramming vocab. It's all applicable to life and conveyed in a way that is easy to comprehend.

It's a big lecture class but she tries to make it as much fun as possible by having class interactions every once in awhile. You should buy the guided notebook because it makes the lectures easier to follow, and you are given practice problems within the notebook as well. There are two homework assignments every week which suck.

Her lectures are amazing and she keeps you completely engaged. Her exams, on the other hand, are extremely difficult and her questions are worded weird. Her final is also cumulative and so hard.

Big lecture class, visited her in her office hours once and she was great help and also full of advice. She tries to be funny and keep your attention in class, you can tell she cares about her students!
