Comment:

Crystal clear about concepts and illustrates them well with examples. Yes, he is a tough grader, but that's really because of the nature of mathematics: it's a rigorous science. You make a mistake, and you ruin everything. Shame he is retiring and I can't take any more of his classes.

Ebert is very good at what he teaches, crystal clear examples and explanations. But he is a very very tough grader, and he expects you master the materials after a couple of examples. So unless you are very good at logic stuffs, take him. Otherwise I would not recommend. Overall very excellent teacher but his classes are TOUGH

There's a reason his ratings are so low. He's a fine teacher and a nice enough man, but his grading is horrifically strict and his exams do not reflect any of the problems in the textbook. I will not be taking any more classes with this man in the future, and I recommend that you do the same.

Math210 is extremely hard so dont take it. He is very clear and good at explaining the material. Attend class and do ALL suggested homework. Exams and quizzes are example problems from class and homework problems. He does care about peoples grades and has an adjusted grade scale where a 55 is a C. He dropped our lowest quiz/homework grades.

Had this guy years ago, and I see nothing has changed. His lectures are pretty good, but his quizzes/exams are almost impossible - some tips: study EVERY exception and try to practice as many trick questions as you can; his exams are about what you do NOT know, not what you DO know.

This guy is hard! I thought he taught clearly, but his grading is hard. He seemed helpful with me. I had no problem getting help during his office hours. The biggest problem I have with him is that his tests don't reflect the HW at all. You'd expect the test to be similar to HW only to be surprised that it's super hard and nothing like the HW.

Discrete Math was difficult (I expect to fail), but homework was easy and he taught the concepts well. Most homework was not graded, but every other Wednesday he'd give us a couple questions to turn in. Quizes and exams were difficult but tolerable.

This man thrives on the anguish of students. To give you an idea of how difficult this professor is, I have had all A's in college, a few B's, two C's and one D. The D was in his class. Nuff said, a smart man, but an impossible teacher.

Ebert is by far and away the worst teacher I ever had. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS FROM EBERT. I should of taken this class from another teacher.
