Dr. Fincke's workshops can be arduous at times, and there are a lot of instances where I don't think he reads pieces carefully. He does have a lot of enthusiasm for teaching students to write well, he encourages different kinds of creativity, and he is very entertaining (mostly inadvertently).

Dr. Fincke is above all things FAIR. He is honest with you and he does want you to be better. In class he adds interesting anecdotes to illustrate a point, and he assigns several essays and a few reading assignments. You can't expect him to coddle you but he will treat you like an adult.

Dr. Fincke cares basically about himself, and thats about it. His classes consist mostly of him talking about himself, or his son and his son's band. His class does not help you become a better writer, and I very rarely felt I got anything out of his workshops (except more pointless stories)
