Took a hybrid course with him. I really did not learn much but it was an EXTREMELY EASY class. He really doesn't teach and just assigns long textbook chapters. The final Flix2You project is a joke and not even really graded harshly. Very easy class but I feel like I learned nothing

Don't know what the previous person is taking about. All you had to do was to ask for an extension on a homework with a reason and he gave you an extension. Great on-line class and great teacher. Take him if you ever get a chance.

Best online professor I have ever had. Very involved in the course & answers emails promptly. Gives good feedback?will answer any level of question. Even lectures LIVE for at least an hour a week. Goes above and beyond. Course itself was hard, but he's very supportive and patient. Grading can be slow due to type of hw; spends lots of time on each.

I agree with most people that Gary may seem boring. Very little in IST is actually exciting. He goes above and beyond helping students. Gary also does a lot of the intern shabang, and helps schedule newbies to PSU. I'd recommend him to anybody for any class.

Good professor. Very willing to help outside of class. If you don't understand what is going on in class, he is a very approachable professor. Slideshows can get kind of boring though. Ask questions and get a discussion going and it makes it more interesting!

Gary's 210 class was the best damn IST class Iever sat in. He uses real world solutions which in IT is priceless. I had him not this Spring, but last right before he went to China. Gary is also an asset to the whole IST program and he looks for the best internships.I learned alot T.L.M

While he is not a very difficult professor, Heberling is incredibly boring. His lectures are rather dull, and tend to drag on. By the end of the class most kids in class are browsing the internet and not paying attention. He's also a huge fan of pointless, busy work. An easy professor, but there is much busy work.
