Dr. Henson is great! My favorite professor at ETSU. He's really nice and explains things really well. He puts up practice tests and always uses a few problems from them on the real tests. Tests are 20 multiple choice with two work out problems. They're honestly really easy. He does demonstrations in class and is a super great guy! Take him!

Comment:
Dr. Henson does not care about his students, and he does not teach us the material that he tests us on. I would avoid him at all cost, but unfortunately he is the only professor that "teaches" this course. He will make you feel very dumb, and tell you that the things you missed were very trivial. You will most likely have to teach yourself E&M.

Nice guy who knows his stuff, but not the best at teaching the material. The only grades are exams and he doesn't pull any punches. I ended up dropping the class at the risk of getting around a D in the class

Dr. Henson is a brilliant man, who is very passionate about the subject. That being said, he should not be teaching an intro course. He does not explain the material very well. His exams are written for the purpose of tricking the students. Would NOT recommend him for any intro physics course.

Dr. Henson was not helpful at all. He did not use any kind of notes and only gave example problems and no definitions or explanations. He did bring in props to use for almost every class. If visual learning is your strong point, take the class. If not, find another professor!

This instructor is a definite win. He gives test reviews which include a study guide and a practice exam which features 95% of the questions on the test. Attendance to class was no mandatory but certainly helpful. He does have to enfore lab attendance, though. The labs are very informative and basic, so no worries there either.

Dr. Henson is very knowledgeable in his field, and he tries to make the subject interesting. Lectures can run a bit long, at times, but most of the information he gives is relevant. The quizzes are easy, the labs are even easier, and the class as a whole is enjoyable. Just make sure to study a bit before the quizzes and you'll be golden.

Incredibly smart man, but I did not learn a great deal from his teaching method. Perhaps he is too smart to "Dumb it down" enough for those of us who have no experience in the subject whatsoever. I would not recommend to anyone who wants an easy A--test are challenging and WebAssign is very demanding.

Dr. Henson is a great professor. I took him for Physics II and really enjoyed his class. Very helpful if you are confused or just need a clarification. Probably the best Physics professor on campus!

Dr. Henson is a very good physics professor. His tests were more than fair and he always had a review day before the test. He explained the concepts well, but reading the book helps, too.

Dr. Henson is a great teacher in my opinion. If he sees that you are dedicated to working hard and you still struggle, he will go out of his way to help you in any way that he can. Slackers beware however - he has no patience for slackers and there's no way you'll pass if you don't work hard. Tough course, and tests aren't easy, but it's doable.

Very intimidating at first, but if he sees you have a genuine interest in learning and work hard he couldn't BE more helpful. He is a perfectionist when it comes to the weekly lab reports, as far as grammar and format is concerned, but it is a writing intensive course. Overall, I like him and would take him again. He has no patience for slackers!

Contrary to what some have said about him, he really is a good teacher. His lectures only make sense if you have actually taken the time to read the book. Dr. H. has a low tolerance for slackers and doesn't go out of his way to cater to them like many professors at this school have a tendancy to do. So basically, be a good student.

Physics is a difficult subject. Dr. Henson does demonstrations of concepts, so the class is not as boring as if someone only lectured. He explains concepts on the students level as much as he can. The class is large, so he is willing to help those whom ask for help. Do homework and study concepts outlined in syllabus! He grades more than fair.

I cannot follow this man! He's obviously knowledgable but his lectures are intolerable. Tends to repeat the same point 18 times with no new insight, and will often stray on irrelevant tangents. Tests and homework are hard. Take Beverly Smith instead.
