Professor Kornblith is a quality professor who requires students to do extensive reading and to be prepared and active in class. He seems to take great satisfaction in complex historical analysis and discussion, while avoiding easy answers. He will challenge you in order to push your abilites. He is also an extremely friendly and likeable man.

i found H103 a grave disappointment. I was expecting a lot more exploration of different viewpoints, not just conflicts between interpritations of upperclass white men. I had hoped it would expand upon/deepen the understanding of this period that i attained in high school, but it did not. not recommended.

I was hesitant about taking this course, as I never considered myself much of a history person, but Professor Kornblith consistently interested me and occasionally blew my mind. Highly recommended. I am intimidated by him like a teenaged girl is by Johnny Depp.

My favorite teacher at Oberlin. He leads amazing discussions and opens texts up like nobody's business. He's a really great guy too and he tries to make everybody feel comfortable in his classes. I've taken two of his classes and hope to take more!

here's the thing. he knows his stuff pretty well, he's pretty helpful, he's pretty clear. but he's kind of a jerk. and very presumptuous, and tried to give me advice on my personal life in a VERY unasked for way. I just never liked him. also boring.
