ASK HIM QUESTIONS!!! He may get annoyed, but he'll answer them and help you understand. Also, don't rely purely on his lectures. Read the book, do the problems he assigns you, and STUDY! By the time you come out, you will know more about math than you did before. It's not impossible to pass his courses, but it's not easy.

Gary is a GREAT professor. His classes are tough, but if you put in effort he recognizes it and is very helpful. He was one of the best professors I had at CBU. Also, he knows his stuff better than most of the books he uses. If you listen you can take a great deal from his courses that you wouldn't obtain from other professors.

Gary is as wicked smart as he is a wicked teacher. I'll admit that I found it intimidating going to his office with questions, but once you break the ice he's an excellent help. He almost always knows what your question is, even if you're not exactly sure what the problem you are having yourself is in the first place. Can't say enough good things.

I took this class twice with him and failed both time with the same mark, I did my work I am a math major with a 80 average. Took the course from another proff, got a 92. Horrible proff, he should never be able to teach

Gary is one of the best profs at cbu. Alot of people dont like his lectures and his smirkness, but all in all he is great at what he does. As long as you go to the tutorials you'll do fine. He is great in class for answering questions and clarifying theories. Highly recommend him if you want a good mark!

proff was totally useless, I major in math and I struggle in his class. the problems he posts have nothing to do with the material he tests on. I have gone to his office many times and he says hes not taking appointments and closes the door. his office hours are when I have class and he will not make other arrangements. so useless

Horrible prof, I believe he is probably one prof that will likely go crazy some day in the future. He is extremely rude, and unhelpful. One day someone asked him why the answer came out the way it did cause he didnt understand it, and Gary's response was "Because I said so"

Gary seems nice enough and he knows his stuff. BUT he's not the sort of person who can teach you something you don't already know. I had a 97 in cal 12 and im struggling in this class. I hear the other profs aren't much better though. If you NEED this course, get a tutor from the start. You'd be suprized how hard he can make calculus...

Worst math prof at CBU. He knows his stuff, but cant dumb it down to a level at which we understand. Condesending if you ask a question. He's obsessed with proofs that we could do without. He might as well speak German. The class average was 55%. If you HAVE to take a course from him.....pray....alot.

If you have trouble learning math, avoid this prof at all costs. He is totally incomprehensible in class, erases things as soon as he writes them down, and can't stay on track at all. I depended almost completely on the book, which also sucked. He's not approachable at all, and getting him to answer a question is like pulling teeth.

Best of the math teachers at CBU, hard to follow, sometimes instantly erases something after he just wrote it down, bad consistancy with midterm/exam skill level. Way too aggressive/cocky/arrogant when it comes to confronting students about ANYTHING

He only gives you help when he wants to give you help. His notes are often unclear, and he can be very hard to follow. He constantly changes his expectations... his first midterm was "too easy", his second midterm was "too difficult", and he turned around and makes the exam even more difficult. He should present his material in a simplier way.

This guy is a genius and has a passion for math. Now it's a shame that he doesn't have a passion for making students understand concepts. You might as well be teaching yourself. He is a very angry guy and makes you feel like an idiot when you ask a question that he sees as simple. I learned the material on my own time. He was of little to no help.

i had him 1 calss, and if anyone went to SA hees 100 times worse than BOONE! seriously,im taking higher level math cources now, because i know thati could not handle/stand him! do what ever you can, take a year off. i talked to people who had 90's in cal 12 in high school and failed because he just dont know how to teach! gar-bear is a ****. no offence to everyone who loved him, but im 99.9% sure that this man is a robot programed to go back in time and ruin the lives of several unlucky students who are simply trying to get math out of the way and have 3 full years math free. he is OCD and obsessed with proofs taht you really could do without. im not a fan
