Very helpful, open to any content in work, lets you do your own thing :) Seriously interested in drawing and print, and expects the same from you. One of the best teachers here.

Great instructor, whose value becomes more apparent the longer you spend in his class, and the more you show that you want to do the work. Has wealth of experience, is pleasant, truly interested in people's work. Wants to help people. Has a passion for printmaking and drawing. Focuses on your accomplishment, not pointless details. Great teacher.

While Gary was a nice man, his demo's were really hard to understand and his explanations of how to do things even harder. He kind of tended to assume we knew how to do everything which was annoying cuz it was a 101 class and I had never even seen this type of equipment before.

I did a self directed figure painting class in my fourth year and asked Gary to be my mentor. And in that role he was great. His insights and encouragement made my dig deeper into my work than most. He'd find things that worked in a painting that I thought was a failure that I'd incorporate into other works. One of the best I had.

If you are good at what you do, and care about being a better printmaker, Gary will take an interest in you and be very helpful. If you're there only to get the class and don't really care, then don't expect much...but then again, why would you?

He wasn't remotely phased when I told him in a third year printing class and had no clue how to start. He helped a lot and continues to give me feedback even though I'm not currently in a printing class. Fun to talk to, he has a wealth of info and is enthusiastic about his job, in and out of ACAD.

I was excited to take the class at first. He was almost an hour late to the 1st class and hasn't shown up on time once. Not a great class if you've never had printmaking as he's not help whatsoever, he also gives grades away for next to no effort. You'd have to be dead to get lower than a B.

A good teacher if you are looking for a mainly self-directed avenue to produce art. Gives very comprehensive handouts that are helpful, and all the class time you want. Long crits, but he always has something to say. A good guy.
