Gary Scudder is a good man and cares about his students. However he is a very hard grader. If you think you can just slide through his class then you will be in for disappointment. But if you work hard you will be rewarded.

Constantly encourages participation but ends up lecturing and interrupting you so he can pretend your ideas were his. Sexist in a really gross way. Very prideful but not as smart as he thinks he is. Very tough grader but does not provide adequate feedback to help you succeed. Have had five classes with him. He never improves his teaching style.

Absolutely fantastic teacher, this is the second time I've had him and I'd love to take another class of his if given the chance. His classes aren't loaded with work, you'll have a couple of essays to write throughout the semester and one or two larger assignments. He's a tough grader but is more than willing to give you advice and feedback.

Probably one of the more difficult COR instructors. Class participation counted for a lot of your grade which required you to stay up on the reading every class. Awesome professor though. Knows what he's talking about. Really nice guy that cares about his students once you get to know him.

He has a persona of being a mean old guy, but it's all in good fun, and he is legitimately hilarious. Also, he knew EVERYTHING about the topic. Our class discussions were 'hey, I read this cool thing about Yemen' 'What do you know? I went to Yemen last year. Here's 5 neat observations' Highly recommended.

Scudder is a wonderful professor and by far the best instructor I have had in my life. He cares about his students and makes information interesting to the audience. HIGHLY recommend, and definitely taking more classes taught by him. Two Thumbs Up!

By far best professor I have ever had hes nice enough that he will help you when you need it but if you slack off because you think hes a pushover you'll suffer. His jokes are hilarious and he can make the driest material fun and interesting.

Gary Scudder is a great teacher. He does care about his students but he may act like he doesn't at times. He has a passion for teaching and is amazing at it. I learned so much from his class. I highly recommend taking a class that he teaches.

Best teacher I've had so far at Champlain. Tough, but I learned so much. He completely altered the school's syllabus, and the class was that much better. And his assignments aren't that hard, but the in class discussions are deep. Overall, he is a fantastic teacher and I recommend him to anyone, especially for Aesthetic Expressions.

Professor Scudder-An Excellent Teacher, as he is actually able to teach. He has a great deal of personality and is has obviously enjoys the subject. Experienced and competent-if you want to learn, you will do so. He assigns enough work to accomplish this end.

Scudder is wonderful. He cares about his students. He is challenging and intelligent. If you do the work, you'll do well. Before we did evaluations, Scudder wrote "Brilliant ****" on the board...that about sums it up :)

Assigns a lot of reading, like over 100 pgs per week. I did take an online accelerated class, but dang that's still a lot. Overall he is very active in class and fair. Just a lot of reading.
